We Are Alive! August 19th, 2024 Ding Dong!

The weather is beginning to feel like autumn already. The sun is still hot, but the breeze is cool. Today I did my door to door, but things got snagged.

I have to be assigned "walklists" to do the job. I texted around noon, informing I'll need lists by 3:00. At 2:30 I still didn't have lists, but I headed out anyway thinking they'll be assigned any minute.

3:00, no lists.

I text and I'm given an estimated time of 4:00 pm.

4:00, no lists.

4:30, no lists.

I visit a Rite Aid that's going out of business and find all sorts of fun stuff for 50% off. But my cash-flow is going negative, I want to get paid for my time.

5:00, no lists.

I visit a McDonalds and relax, checking for new lists. Nothing.

5:15, I contact my manager and she said just wait another 15 minutes or so.

5:30, No lists, I head towards home. Guess this evening is a bust.

6:15, I get a text saying to refresh the app, I've been assigned a walklist.... an hour ago! Nobody informed me! I refresh the app... THERE IT IS!

My managed appologized and said she clocked me in for 3 and would be paid for all that waiting time. I was very happy, but didn't want to clock out at 5 or 6 or even 7. I need my five hours today - so I drive over to the walklist.

6:45 - I arrive at the walk site and get moving. I'm highly motivated to get as many doors as possible, as many surveys, interviews as I can. It's a beautiful day.

8:15 - I wrap up my last street. My feet are tired, I'm slightly out of breath, but I'm feeling good, feeling accomplished.

I call my manager and she's shocked that I walked tonight, she figured I would go home. I did, but I went back out. I manged 80 doors in those last hour and half. I got my five hours. How did I do it?

By the grace of the Most High.

Now I wonder if I'll sleep tonight!

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

Bank Bailout Special!

It's happening, folks. The banks are going under! To educate our children about what is going on, there is a "Bank Bailout Book Bonanza" going on with the Tuttle Twins! Use coupon code FORTY for 40% off your purchase! Check out the books here.

Ha! Good story. Good idea to power through instead of just writing off the day. That's a #winning move, sir!

Thank you for that, it was so tempting to just go home frustrated, but instead I came home accomplished. Best thing to do is the best thing to do and not blame anyone else. Everyone is coming down hard on the guy who messed this up, but I don't, he's a cool guy.

Agreed. If it's a one time thing I'd chalk it up to, "everyone makes mistakes". If it happens a lot though, then it might become a problem, but it does not sound like that's the case. Onward and upward!

The sign is pretty funny. I really feel like there is a lot more tension behind this election cycle than others previously and to be quite honest with you I'm pretty exhausted with it as well but I'm not hoping for a planet ender meteor. Hahhaha

I'm not hoping for a planet ender meteor.

Me neither, but I can understand the sentiment. !LOLZ

Hahahah, Yeah I have been seeing a lot of videos popping up on YouTube talking about Civil War. I'm going to do a video on my thoughts on that. Hahha.

What a funny sign! Ha! It goes dark here at 6:30 and no way would anyone open a door for a random person in the dark. Ha! Good thing it stays lighter for longer there and you could get your work in!

We are able to door knock as late as 9:00 PM, but in the winter months (here) we only go until dark for exactly that reason. The sun is setting latter even now and it's becoming dusk around 8:30 or so.

I remember growing up and being able to play outside until 9:00 or so. The thing about Panama that is consistent is the year-round sunrise around 6 am and year-round sunset around 6 pm. I'd go for some later hours, but it also makes an 8pm bedtime pretty easy!

That would be something.... sunrise and sunset around the same time each morning and night!
