We Are Alive! August 5th, 2024 Red Race Car!

We visited a political event and bbq at the Old Packard Proving Grounds. They had a food truck with hotdogs, chips and soda.

We brought out two youngest ones with us and my boy had a great time!

Inside the garage where the event was held, there was a restored Packard car. A "Red Race Car" as my son said.

We don't see many Packard cars anymore, but here was one fully restored. It looked brand new!

"Wheels!" He really liked the fancy wheels.

"Dad, can we buy one?" I said "No son, it's not for sale, and if it were I don't think we could afford it." A fully restored Packard isn't affordable for most people!

It was the highlight of his evening! I'm glad he came along with us. I think he's glad he came too.

Back in the day (early 1960s) my father owned a Packard Standard--the engine was a straight 8.

It is interesting these various cars that have existed and then are no longer in production. One of the ones that is super interesting to me is the AMC Javelin. THere was a heavily modified one from a few years ago that completely blows my mind.
