What a lovely story of challenges overcome and hope for the future, @samsmith1971. I absolutely love how you wove in the story of Daniel and how at the end of the story his misdemeanor just doesn't matter. You did a masterful job of keeping the reader engaged throughout. We must know what happened to Isabella. The little message he notices from so long ago when he looks at it on his phone is the perfect closure as he begins a new chapter.
I'm so glad you are setting aside your inner critic and getting back to writing. We all go through slumps, and it's so great when the inspiration kicks in again and you find joy in writing again.
Love the music. I am not familiar with that band. They're fantastic.
Thank you @jayna I love it when other writers recognise the work and heart that has gone into a piece. Hopefully, I can start honing my craft again, now that the writing flow is returning. Please always feel welcome to give me honest critique so that I can continue to improve. It's one of the things I love most about TIW - the opportunity always to grow as a writer when we welcome feedback and put it into action.
The band... Lifehouse... one of my absolute favourites!!! They are an Alt-Rock band from LA. They have such a great distinct sound and a diverse range of songs. Jason Wade has a beautiful voice! You should ask Alexa to put Lifehouse on shuffle. You won't be disappointed!
ps: I cannot tell you how many times I edited and tightened this piece... and it's probably still a little soft around the edges hehe. Given its length, I doubt many will take on the read, but I fully appreciate that you and the other curators did, and that you took the time to leave me such a lovely comment. Much love! !LUV !HUG !ALIVE
