You talked about the silver, gold and the plastic one. Now if a very rare figure is plastic rather than gold or silver, does it affect the price it should have been sold for?

It's all rarity based, the more rare the item is the more demand by the collectors. The most valuable LEGOs are the precious metal ones because only one to three were made. There is one figure carved from wood that was used in a movie and it's the second most valuable LEGO on earth because there's only one. Still, I would never pay $5800 for a piece of plastic! You could buy two gold coins for that amount!
