My Rebellion Buying Strategy Update: Buy Packs and Sell Cards + Cost per Pack Calculations + My Opening of 56 Rebellion Packs
On December 5, 2023, the general sale of the Rebellion set began and today, January 5, 2024, 31 days have passed since the Rebellion cards entered the Modern Format and the Untamed cards exited the Mondern Format.
The initial supply of Rebellion packs was 10 million but the daily burn mechanism is progressively decreasing the initial supply and in fact today, after only one month since the general sale began, the percentage of burned packs (6%) has exceeded
- the number of packs in circulation (0.8%)
- the number of packs transferred to the DAO (0.7%)
- the number of open packs (5.2%)
For the Rebellion set I chose to base my strategy on the purchase of Rebellion packs.
In detail, my strategy is the following:
- Step 1: I purchase the Rebellion packs choosing the most convenient purchase option each time.
- Step 2: I open the Rebellion packs.
- Step 3: I maintain and upgrade only those cards that can be useful to me in battle in the short term
- Step 4: I sell Rebellion cards that:
- I consider to be of little use to me in Modern Format battles
- have similar or worse stats than the Chaos Legion cards I have in my card collection
- are not my targets for short-term upgrades
- are priced too high to reach the level of the card that would be useful to me in battle.
- Step 5: with the profit I gain from selling the cards I buy more Rebellion packs and return to step 2 of my strategy.
In opening packs, luck always plays an important role but my strategy has its own financial logic and will only make sense until the estimated value of the Rebellion packs is greater than the purchase cost.
I have checked the estimated value and market price on Hive Engine every time I have purchased packs and have taken note of these values thanks to the Splintercards site that constantly offers this updated info.
But attention this does not mean that every time you buy a pack and sell the cards you gain +$0.57 because an estimated value is always an uncertain value and an estimated value tends to be close to a real value only on very large numbers and in the case of Rebellion packs on a very very large number of packs purchased.
You must also consider that when you sell a card you pay a fee that further lowers the real final sale value of the cards.
The difference between estimated value and purchase value is however a good starting point for establishing a possible buying strategy and as long as the estimated value of 1 Rebellion pack is greater than the purchase price I will continue to buy packs, continue to open them, and continue to sell a portion of the cards I find inside the packs.
To date I have purchased 313 Rebellion packs and spent a total of 3374.24 SWAP.HIVE = $1170.86
In 313 Rebellion packs I found 1565 Rebellion cards but today my Rebellion collection consists of 475 cards = 810 BCX.
So I bought 313 Rebellion packs but I also sold 755 Rebellion cards (1565 - 810) which allowed me to continue buying more Rebellion packs.
Yesterday I used 144K DEC that I had in my in-game wallet to purchase 34 Rebellion packs.
I first transferred the DEC from my in-game wallet to my Hive Engine Wallet.
Then I used the SWAPS feature of Hive Keychain to convert 144K DEC -> 393.74 SWAP.HIVE

To purchase 34 Rebellion packs I spent a total of 368.55 SWAP.HIVE = $127.88
I immediately opened the packs I purchased and if you click on this link you can see all the cards I found: https://next.splinterlands.com/mana-well?t=10fdcd6b61134f5d1ab78e8b7a8f958337f9de33&ref=libertycrypto27
In 34 packs I found two legendary cards: Zebajin and Endura Brune.
I wasn't very lucky with the total value of the cards I found in the 34 packs because I found cards worth a total value = $105.27 while I spent $127.88.
Based on my strategy, I immediately put 138 cards for sale.
In less than 24 hours I have accumulated more than 75K DEC in my in-game wallet which I decided to use immediately and contextually with the writing of this post to purchase more Rebellion packs.
As I always do before purchasing a Rebellion pack I first checked the best purchase option for 1 Rebellion pack by calculating the cost per pack for each available purchase option and based on the current market values of the HIVE, DEC and VOUCHER tokens
So today January 5, 2024 the best option for purchasing Rebellion packs in quantities less than 500 units is to purchase from Hive Engine/TribalDex/BeeSwap and the cost per pack is = 10.83 SWAP.HIVE = $3.76.
For pack purchases over 500 units in a single transaction, it is instead better to purchase packs from the Splinterlands Shop because the cost per pack is:
- = 3.61$ per pack (purchase of 500+ packs)
- = 3.46$ per pack (purchase of 2000+ packs).
Today I converted 75K DEC to 203.499 SWAP.HIVE and purchased 19 more Rebellion packs spending a bit more (205.95 SWAP.HIVE) since I had additional SWAP.HIVE to use gained from previous card sales.
In addition, another previous purchase order of mine was also accepted in the meantime and today I was able to open 22 packs.
I will conclude this post by sharing the cards I found inside the last 22 packs I opened.
Few surprises until the last packs where I found 3 legendary cards.

To purchase 22 packs I spent about 238 SWAP.HIVE = $82.58 and found cards for an estimated total value = $81.22
Again I was not lucky this time but I hope to be lucky in the next packs I open ;)
I continue to set growth goals on Splinterlands, hope that bots will be eliminated completely from Splinterlands, continue to increase the battle strength of my usable card collection in Modern Format where there are no bots, and look forward with much excitement to the fully playable versions of Genesis League Soccer and Soulkeep that will expand the Splinterlands ecosystem

La mia strategia di acquisto per il set Rebellion: Acquistare Pacchetti e Vendere Carte + Calcolo del Costo per Pacco + L'apertura di 56 pacchi Rebellion
Il 5 dicembre 2023 è iniziata la general sale del set Rebellion e oggi 5 gennaio 2024 sono passati 31 giorni da quando le carte Rebellion sono entrare nel Modern Format e le carte Untamed sono uscite dal Mondern Format.
La tiratura iniziale dei pacchi Rebellion era di 10 milioni ma il meccanismo di bruciatura giornaliero sta progressivamente diminuendo la supply iniziale ed infatti oggi, dopo solo un mese dall'inizio della general sale, la percentuale di pacchi bruciati (6%) ha superato:
- il numero dei pacchi in circolazione (0.8%)
- il numero dei pacchi trasferiti al DAO (0.7%)
- il numero dei pacchi aperti (5.2%)
Per il set Rebellion ho scelto di basare la mia strategia sull'acquisto dei pacchi Rebellion.
In dettaglio la mia strategia è la seguente:
- Passo 1: acquisto i pacchi Rebellion scegliendo ogni volta l'opzione di acquisto più conveniente
- Passo 2: apro i pacchi Rebellion
- Passo 3: mantengo e faccio l'upgrade solo delle carte che mi possono essere utili in battaglia nel breve periodo
- Passo 4: vendo le carte Rebellion che:
- considero poco utili per me nelle battaglie del Modern Format
- hanno statistiche simili o peggiori delle carte Chaos Legion che ho nella mia collezione di carte
- non sono miei obiettivi di upgrades di breve termine
- hanno un prezzo troppo alto per raggiungere il livello della carta che mi sarebbe utile in battaglia.
- Passo 5: con il guadagno che ottengo dalla vendita delle carte acquisto altri pacchi Rebellion e ritorno al passo 2 della mia strategia.
Nell'apertura dei pacchi la fortuna gioca sempre un ruolo importante ma la mia strategia ha una sua logica finanziaria e avrà senso solo fino a quando il valore stimato dei pacchi Rebellion è maggiore al costo di acquisto.
Ho controllato il valore stimato e il prezzo di mercato su Hive Engine ogni volta che ho acquistato dei pacchi e ho preso nota di questi valori grazie al sito Splintercards che costantemente offre queste informazioni aggiornate.
La differenza tra valore stimato e prezzo di acquisto su Hive Engine è stato sempre un valore positivo tutte le volte che ho controllato questi valori e oggi c'è una differenza = +0.57
Ma attenzione questo non vuol dire che ogni volta che acquisti un pacco e vendi le carte ottieni un guadagno di +0.57$ perchè un valore stimato è sempre un valore non certo e un valore stimato tende ad avvicinarsi ad un valore reale solo su grandissimi numeri e nel caso dei pacchi Rebellion su un numero di pacchi acquistati molto molto grande.
Devi anche considerare che quando vendi una carta paghi una fee che fa abbassare ulteriormente il valore reale di vendita finale delle carte.
La differenza tra valore stimato e valore di acquisto è comunque un buon punto di partenza per stabilire una possibile strategia di acquisto e fin quando il valore stimato di 1 pacco Rebellion sarà maggiore del prezzo di acquisto io continuerò ad acquistare pacchi, continuerò ad aprirli e continuerò a vendere una parte delle carte che troverò all'interno dei pacchi.
Fino ad oggi ho acquistato 313 Rebellion packs e ho speso in totale 3374.24 SWAP.HIVE = 1170.86$
In 313 Rebellion packs ho trovato 1565 Rebellion cards ma oggi la mia collezione Rebellion è composta da 475 carte = 810 BCX.
Quindi ho acquistato 313 Rebellion packs ma ho anche venduto 755 carte Rebellion (1565 - 810) che mi hanno permesso di continuare ad acquistare altri pacchi Rebellion.
Ieri ho utilizzato 144K DEC che avevo nel mio in-game wallet per acquistare 34 Rebellion packs.
Ho prima trasferito i DEC dal mio in-game wallet al mio Hive Engine Wallet.
Poi ho utilizzato la funzionalità SWAPS di Hive Keychain per convertire 144K DEC -> 393.74 SWAP.HIVE

In 34 pacchi ho trovato due carte leggendarie: Zebajin e Endura Brune
Non sono stato molto fortunato con il valore totale delle carte che ho trovato nei 34 pacchi perchè ho trovato carte per un valore totale = 105.27$ mentre io ho speso 127.88$.
In base alla mia strategia ho messo immediatemente in vendita 138 carte.
In meno di 24 ore ho accumulato nel mio in-game wallet più di 75K DEC che ho deciso di utilizzare subito e contestualmente alla scrittura di questo post per acquistare altri pacchi Rebellion.
Come faccio sempre prima di acquistare un pacco Rebellion ho prima verificato l'opzione migliore di acquisto per 1 pacco Rebellion calcolando il costo per pacco per ogni opzione di acquisto disponibile ed in base ai valori attuali di mercato dei token HIVE, DEC e VOUCHER
Quindi oggi 5 gennaio 2024 l'opzione migliore per acquistare i pacchi Rebellion in quantità inferiori alle 500 unità è l'acquisto da Hive Engine/TribalDex/BeeSwap e il costo per pacco è = 10.83 SWAP.HIVE = 3.76$.
Per acquisti di pacchi superiori alle 500 unità in un unica transazione conviene invece acquistare i pacchi dallo Shop di Splinterlands perchè il costo per pacco è:
- = 3.61$ per pacco (acquisto di 500+ pacchi)
- = 3.46$ per pacco (acquisto di 2000+ pacchi)
Oggi ho convertito 75K DEC in 203.499 SWAP.HIVE e ho acquistato altri 19 Rebellion packs spendendo un pò di più (205.95 SWAP.HIVE) dato che avevo degli SWAP.HIVE aggiuntivi da utilizzare ricavati dalle precedenti vendite di carte.
Inoltre nel frattempo è stato accettato anche un altro mio ordine di acquisto precedente e oggi ho potuto aprire 22 pacchi.
Concludo questo post condividendo le carte che ho trovato all'interno degli ultimi 22 pacchi che ho aperto.
Poche sorprese fino agli ultimi pacchi dove ho trovato 3 carte leggendarie.

You weren't so lucky but I still think it's a good strategy. Are you adding in post rewards to supplement the packs or is the value you have left dropping off slowly through each round?
Only the first 40 parcels I bought with external liquidity, while all the others I am buying only with card sales but I also sold some beta and untamed cards

Ciao @arc7icwolf è un calcolo non facile da fare perchè perchè non c'è un tool che calcola in automatico il profitto ottenuto dalle carte di una sola collezione e quindi potrei fare un calcolo preciso ma dovrei scorrere ogni singola transazione e segnarmi tutto manualmente... ma un calcolo approssimativo lo posso fare.
Considera che avrò investito inizialmente circa 400 HIVE e 350 DEC (i DEC ottenuti vendendo le carte Untamed e Beta) poi il tutto si è alimentato da solo con la vendita delle carte per acquistare gli altri pacchi, quindi diciamo che ho investito inizialemente 500$ ma sto esagerando.
La mia collezione Rebellion vale 645.66$ e già qui sono soddisfatto e potrei dire di essere in positivo anche perchè ho 58K DEC nel mio wallet = guadagno dalla vendita delle carte Rebellion.
Per acquistare 313 pacchi ho speso in totale 1170$ ma Peakmonster mi mostra solo i pacchi aperti in 30 giorni e quindi solo 295.
In base all'analisi di Peakmonsters in 295 pacchi ho trovato carte per un valore di 1105$ e già questo mostra quasi un pareggio ma considerato che non ho immesso liquidità esterna per acquistare molti pacchi dovrei essere in attivo.
Considera anche che molte carte le ho vendute quando valevano di più e ho già nel mio wallet 58K DEC da reinvestire in altri pacchetti.
Quindi anche approssimando dovrei essere in attivo di almeno 200$ ma il mio obiettivo per cui faccio tutto questo è costruirmi un deck per tornare in gold dove i premi sono migliorati e in questo modo se riesco a ritornare in gold nel breve periodo dovrei riuscire a guadagnare almeno 20$ a stagione in premi che non sarebbe assolutamente un guadagno da buttare ;)
A proposito per le mie carte Wild cosa mi consigli tra xbot e archmage se volessi usare un bot nel wild?

Grazie come sempre della risposta incredibilmente precisa :) Quindi diciamo che perchè l'operazione possa rivelarsi profittevole probabilmente dovrei puntare a ben più dei 10 pacchetti che avevo in mente e cercare di prendermi un rischio ben più alto: ci sto pensando spesso ma non è facile decidersi e buttarsi ahahah grazie però per tutte queste informazioni perchè mi sono di grandissimo aiuto nel cercare di prendere una decisione ben ponderata :)
Scusami, mi ricordo solo ora che me lo avevi già chiesto pochissimi giorni fa ma devo essermi dimenticato di risponderti: io utilizzo Archmage e mi trovo bene, ma quando ho provato Xbot con il giorno di prova gratuito mi è sembrato ancora meglio ed un po' più forte. Io infatti ho scelto Archmage solo per una questione di prezzo e perchè comunque non ho gli SPS per giocare in Leghe più alte di quelle in cui riesco a stare con Archmage. Se a te spendere un po' di più non fa molta differenza, credo che dovresti perciò puntare su Xbot, anche perchè te hai carte molto forti per il Wild.
Entrambi sono comunque facilissimi da gestire :)

Io molto spesso ho acquistato i pacchi su Hive Engine perchè spesso hanno un prezzo migliore.
Per i pacchi in generale li acquisto solo quando il valore stimato è maggiore del prezzo di acquisto altrimenti preferisco acquistare direttamente le carte dal mercato ;)
