The development phase "Age Of The Phoenix" (May 24 - Aug 1) is underway and there are many important changes it will introduce to the Splinterverse including:

• the start of Phase 1.5 of the Lands
• the introduction of anti-bots measures in the Modern Format ranked battles
• the release of the new Tower Defense game: Soulkeep.

Today July 6, 2023 an important change was introduced to the Ranked Battles reward mechanisms: Replacing Collection Power requirements with SPS staking.

In the Battle section of Splinterlands, the old box that contained the Collection Power (CP) score has been replaced by a new box that now contains two pieces of information:

• Boost
• Rate

The Boost information refers to the SPS staking multiplier.

The value of the SPS staking multiplier is defined by the formula that you can see in the screenshot below (Source: SPS Staking Multiplier for Ranked Battle Rewards).

In the table below, you can see the amount of staked or delegated SPS required to have a determined SPS Staking Multiplier according to different Rating Scores.

The Rate information instead indicates the probable amount of Reward Points obtainable from the next battle victory.
This is an approximation because the effective value of the Rate information will depend on the type and level of cards used in battle.

Clicking on Manage allows access to the BOOST OVERVIEW section.

From the BOOST OVERVIEW section, it is possible to perform the following operations:

• STAKE SPS
• BUY SPS
• RENT SPS

The possibility of renting SPS tokens is the other new feature introduced by Splinterlands today.

It is possible to rent SPS tokens for a fixed period of 7 days.

Whoever wants to receive a delegation of SPS tokens must create "A SPS RENTAL BID":

• you must click on RENT within the BOOST OVERVIEW section or you must click on MANAGE within the SPS section of the DASHBOARD of Splinterlands and then click on REQUEST SPS.

• then you must create a SPS RENTAL BID.

You can choose a payment method between DEC and CREDITS and you can create a maximum of 10 Bids. Each Bid has a fee of 1 DEC.

Who wants to delegate SPS tokens in exchange for DECs or Credits must:

• go to DASHBOARD -> SPS and click on MANAGE.
• then click on MARKET
• then click on FILL BID.

• then he must click on LEND

It is important to note that you must delete the delegation after 7 days otherwise the delegation will remain active.

My first results with the new SPS Staked requirement

Since the start of the distribution of SPS tokens, I have never sold an SPS token, and on two occasions I have purchased small quantities of SPS tokens.

To date I have accumulated a total of 62147.23 SPS staked.

I also have a liquidity of 2407 SPS in the PKM:SPS pool

The current season is the first season in which I have decided to definitively abandon the Wild Format to play only in the Ranked Battles of the Modern Format because I have always considered bots a big problem for Splinterlands and because I want to be at least in the Gold+ leagues of the Modern Format when the anti-bots measures will be introduced in the Ranked Battles of the Modern Format.

By the way, without bots the rewards per battle won in Modern Format will most likely be much higher than they are now because the reward pool of SPS tokens will only be distributed among real players...

In the current season I started from the Bronze III league and when there are 8 days and 14 hours left until the end of the Splinterlands season I have a rating of 2542 points and I am in the Gold I league of the Modern Format.

With 62147 SPS staked I have:

• a Boost = x10.68
• a Rate = 17545 Pts.

Today I started playing in the Gold II league with:

• a Rating = 2397
• a Boost = x11.22
• a Rate = 15454 Pts.

I finished my game session in the Gold I league with:

• a rating = 2542
• Boost = x10.98
• Rate = 17545 Pts

In the first battle won I received a reward of:

• Rating: +24 points
• RP: +15454
• SPS: +0.524

In the last battle won I received a reward of:

• Rating: +16 points
• RP: +17815
• SPS: +0.617

Despite the progressive decrease of my Boost from x11.22 to x10.98 I increased my rewards (RP and SPS) because my rating increased.

When and if I arrive in the Diamond leagues I will be able to evaluate the effect of the decrease in my boost on the rewards of battles won and at the end of the season I will be able to make calculations and evaluations on my seasonal experience and more battles played.

The change from Collection Power to the SPS staked token requirement has not produced any negative effects on my game activity and rewards and I also feel that it has produced positive effects.

In my opinion the new requirement could produce some future effects including:

• a marked decrease in the value of cards that are not very useful in battle and have a high number of cards in circulation and a low PP score (not very useful and required as land worker cards)
  For this reason I started several months ago to sell all my cards that I considered not very useful in battle or that I rarely used in my battles
• an increase in the value of cards that are very useful in battle
• an increase in the value of SPS tokens which have now acquired a new and important use case.

It's just my personal and humble opinion but I would have chosen to introduce the SPS staked requirement without removing the CP requirement which I would have only reduced to prevent some cards from losing their usefulness completely.

Considering the possible negative effects and the possible positive effects I still consider positive the change from CP to SPS staked because this change adds a medium-long term goal to those who enjoy playing on Splinterlands and at the same time limits or reduces the rewards of those who, like bot-farms, have always preferred to monetize and sell SPS tokens instead of accumulating them.

The concrete effects of this change can only be measured with time and I hope that the effects will be positive and long-lasting.

I continue to set growth goals related to SPS tokens and continue to increase the battle strength of my card collection and look forward with great excitement to the introduction of the anti-bots measures in Modern Format which I believe will be the real and first major step forward for the Splinterlands ecosystem...

Sostituzione del requisito Collection Power con il requisito SPS staked: Info, My First Results and My First Considerations

La fase di sviluppo "Age Of The Phoenix" (May 24 - Aug 1) è in corso e sono tanti i cambiamenti importanti che introdurrà nello Splinterverse tra cui:

• l'inizio della fase 1.5 delle Lands
• l'introduzione delle misure anti-bots nelle ranked battles del Modern Format
• il rilascio del nuovo gioco Tower Defense: Soulkeep.

Oggi 6 luglio 2023 è stata introdotta una modifica importante ai meccanismi di ricompensa delle Ranked Battles: Replacing Collection Power requirements with SPS staking.

Nella sezione Battle di Splinterlands il vecchio riquadro che conteneva il punteggio del Collection Power (CP) è stato sostituito da un nuovo riquadro che adesso contiene due informazioni:

• Boost
• Rate

L'informazione Boost si riferisce all'SPS staking multiplier.

Il valore dell'SPS staking multiplier è definito dalla formula che puoi vedere nello screenshot seguente (Fonte: SPS Staking Multiplier for Ranked Battle Rewards).

Nella tabella seguente puoi vedere il quantitativo di SPS staked o delegated richiesto per avere un determinato SPS Staking Multiplier in base a diversi punteggi di Rating.

L'informazione Rate indica invece il probabile quantitativo di Reward Points ottenibile dalla prossima vittoria in battaglia.
E' un'approssimazione perchè il valore effettivo dell'informazione Rate dipenderà dalla tipologia e livello delle carte usate in battaglia.

Cliccando su Manage è possibile accedere alla sezione BOOST OVERVIEW.

Dalla sezione BOOST OVERVIEW è possibile eseguire le operazioni di:

• STAKE SPS
• BUY SPS
• RENT SPS

La possibilità di prendere in noleggio i token SPS è l'altra novità introdotta oggi da Splinterlands.

E' possibile noleggiare i token SPS per un periodo fisso di 7 giorni.

Chi vuole ricevere una delega di token SPS deve creare "A SPS RENTAL BID":

• deve cliccare su RENT all'interno della sezione BOOST OVERVIEW oppure deve cliccare su MANAGE all'interno della sezione SPS della DASHBOARD di Splinterlands e poi su REQUEST SPS.

• poi deve creare una SPS RENTAL BID

E' possibile scegliere una modalità di pagamento tra DEC e CREDITS ed è possibile creare un massimo di 10 Bids. Ogni Bid ha una fee di 1 DEC.

Chi vuole delegare i token SPS in cambio di DEC o Credits deve:

• andare nella DASHBOARD -> SPS e cliccare su MANAGE
• poi deve cliccare su MARKET
• poi deve cliccare su FILL BID

• poi deve cliccare su LEND

E' importante notare che è necessario cancellare la delegazione dopo 7 giorni altrimenti la delegazione rimarrà attiva.

Le mie prime battaglie con il nuovo requisito SPS Staked

Da quando è iniziata la distribuzione dei token SPS non ho mai venduto un token SPS e in due occasioni ho acquistato piccole quantità di token SPS.

Fino ad oggi ho accumulato un totale di 62147.23 SPS staked

Ho anche una liquidità di 2407 SPS nella pool PKM:SPS

La stagione attualmente in corso è la prima stagione in cui ho deciso di abbandonare definitivamente il Wild Format per giocare solo nelle Ranked Battles del Modern Format perchè ho sempre considerato i bots un grande problema per Splinterlands e perchè voglio trovarmi almeno nelle leghe Gold+ del Modern Format quando saranno introdotte le misure anti-bots nelle ranked battles del Modern format

Tra l'altro senza i bots le ricompense per battaglia vinta nel Modern Format saranno molto probabilmente molto più alte di quelle attuali perchè la reward pool dei token SPS sarà distribuita solo tra i giocatori reali...

Nella stagione in corso sono partito dalla lega Bronze III e quando mancano 8 giorni e 14 ore alla fine della stagione di Splinterlands ho un punteggio di rating di 2542 punti e sono nella lega Gold I del Modern Format.

Con 62147 SPS staked ho:

• un Boost = x10.68
• un Rate = 17545 Pts

Oggi ho iniziato a giocare nella lega Gold II con:

• un rating = 2397
• un Boost = x11.22
• un Rate = 15454 Pts

Ho terminato la mia sessione di gioco nella lega Gold I con:

• un rating = 2542
• Boost = x10.98
• Rate = 17545 Pts

Nella prima battaglia vinta ho ricevuto una ricompensa di:

• Rating: +24 punti
• RP: +15454
• SPS: +0.524

Nell'ultima battaglia vinta ho ricevuto una ricompensa di:

• Rating: +16 punti
• RP: +17815
• SPS: +0.617

Nonostante la diminuzione progressiva del mio Boost da x11.22 a x10.98 ho aumentato le mie ricompense (RP e SPS) perchè il mio rating è aumentato.

Quando e se arriverò nelle leghe Diamond potrò valutare l'effetto della diminuzione del mio boost sulle ricompense delle battaglie vinte e a fine stagione potrò fare calcoli e valutazioni sulla mia esperienza stagionale e su un maggiore numero di battaglie giocate.

Il passaggio dal Collection Power al requisito dei token SPS staked non ha prodotto effetti negativi sulla mia attività di gioco e sulle mie ricompense e mi sembra anche che ha prodotto effetti positivi.

Secondo me il nuovo requisito potrebbe produrre alcuni effetti futuri tra cui:

• una diminuzione marcata del valore delle carte poco utili in battaglia e con un alto numero di carte in circolazione e con un punteggio PP basso (poco utili e richieste come land worker cards)
  Per questo motivo ho iniziato diversi mesi fa a vendere tutte le mie carte che ritenevo poco utili in battaglia o che utilizzavo raramente nelle mie battaglie
• un aumento del valore delle carte molto utili in battaglia
• un aumento del valore dei token SPS che oggi hanno acquisito un nuovo e imporante caso d'uso.

E' solo la mia personale e modesta opinione ma io avrei scelto di introdurre il requisito SPS staked senza togliere il requisito CP che avrei solo ridotto per evitare che alcune carte perdessero completamente la loro utilità.

Considerando i possibili effetti negativi e i possibili effetti positivi considero comunque positivo il cambiamento dal CP agli SPS staked perchè questo cambiamento aggiunge un obiettivo di medio-lungo termine a chi si diverte a giocare su Splinterlands e allo stesso tempo limita o riduce le ricompense di chi, come le bot-farms, ha sempre preferito monetizzare e vendere i token SPS invece di accumularli.

Gli effetti concreti di questo cambiamento potranno essere valutati solo con il tempo.

Io continuo a pormi obiettivi di crescita relativi ai token SPS e continuo ad aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte e aspetto con molta eccitazione l'introduzione delle misure anti-bots nel Modern Format che secondo me sarà il vero e primo importante passo in avanti per l'ecosistema di Splinterlands...
