The Liotes Power Challenge 2024 - 50K powered up in 6 months

On the 8th of January 2024, we started the second edition of the Liotes Power Challenge. The idea is to stake as much Hive power as possible during 2024. The more you power up, the more rewards you will earn.

The reward pool

The @liotes.one account is the reward pool of this challenge. The income of this account is powered up and delegated to the liotes.voter account. This generates daily dividends in the form of LEN tokens. At the end of the challenge, in December 2024. All the LEN tokens will be distributed to the participants. The staked hive power will stay and continue to earn tokens for next years challenge! This means that next year the rewards will be much bigger!

How will the reward pool be distributed?

The total amount of the pot will be distributed to all the people who have a positive sold in Hive Power. The amount that each participant receives will be according to the ranking. The higher your rank, the more you will earn.

Nice growth during the last two months!

After a beginning of the year where more Hive was powered down than powered up, we managed to turn it around in March and April. Since the last report in April, we have started to grow nicely again. At the beginning of this challenge, all participants together owned 1'237'335 HP. Today, we collectively own 1'291'187 Hive Power. This is an increase of 53'852 HP over the first six months of 2024.

Only 10% have less Hive Power now than 6 months ago

The number of people with less Hive Power than at the beginning of the year is still representing around 10% of the whole community. Of the 73 people that are ranked, only 7 have a negative evolution of Hive Power. This means that 65 people have increased their hive power since the beginning of the year!

We encourage everybody to power up Hive to grow their stake and their influence on the chain. Also it will help to scale the income in the long run!

Wow, a collective 53K HP increase, that's great! I was happy to see my HP has almost increased 2K and I rank #19, almost keeping pace with @ctpsb

It's quite a pity the price of HIVE has tanked so much. I'm thinking I might have made a lot more HIVE if I'd set my pay outs to accumulate half in HBD instead of them being fully powered up, and then converting them to HIVE again. Of course, all this is assuming I caught the bottom properly! 🤣

I try not to think too much about the price. If hive goes even more down, it's not sure that APR on HBD interests will remain at this level and this could have different reprcussions that are difficult to predict...
