Welcome to the METHODOFMAD Splinterlands Friday Burn Party!

This week we light up some Golden Vampire Bats.

I am excited to see new burning partners this week. @leonchikov joined in with the burn of a Gold Venari Heatsmith and @eijffelbridge torched a Golden Vampire Bat. Results below

Every Friday, I burn a minimum of 5 gold cards in Splinterlands. Why burn? Fewer cards in the game will result in higher future prices. It's supply and demand, baby! I can't control demand, but I can adjust supply.

In addition to burning cards, I am adding in a new addition thanks to @eijffelbridge as we attempt to Reduce The Supply of DEC My contribution to @eijffelbridge effort will be locking up the DEC from my burns in a liquidity pool.

The minimum burn will be 5 Golden Cards. Some weeks, I will burn more than 5 cards if I have a good week. The more we burn, the more we earn in the future maybe?! Just an FYI the weekly CARD COST and WK BURN COST columns are based on that's week market price to buy the card and the market price of DEC. So in some weeks, burning cards is less of loss than other weeks.

Also, I am giving congratulations to @mercurial9 who has been on a journey to open 1,000 Chaos Packs in a year. What a journey! See his recent post at Week 48. He inspired me to do a 52 week challenge also and I have learned a great deal about the economy of Splinterlands as a result.

I still love your idea! This week sadly I'm short on funds, but I'll at least combine some cards to drop the current reward card levels. I haven't seen a gold card in quite some time, just bad luck of the draw!

No worries. Burning is definitely a money losing idea. Combining is better and continues to generate returns as rentals. Maybe I will add something about combining as well. Have a great weekend!

What I mean is that you can either use your own Hive account to play #Splinterlands, or have a new Hive account created at no extra cost just for playing the game. 😅 I know that you will want to use your Hive account instead since you don't want to spend time and effort managing another account. 😏

You can try playing Splinterlands for free, but you won't earn anything unless you buy the Summoner's Spellbook (which is non-transferable) for $10. 🤓 Take note that you will still earn nothing even after spending $10 if you don't have Cards that you own, rent, or delegated to you. 💸😅 !LUV !CTP

I noticed that you Powered Up 500 HIVE just about 4 hours ago. 🤔 While investing in Hive Power is generally a good idea to earn without spending a lot of time from Curation APR and benefit from sudden increases in the price of HIVE, you should try to make your Voting Mana above 80% (but not reaching exactly 100%) to maximize your curation returns. 🤓 !LUV !CTP

Do you mean that your Voting Power gets close to 70% all of the time? 🤔

Anyway, from now on, I would use "Voting Power" instead of "Voting Mana" (even though when I use the acronym VP, it means both Voting Power and Voting Percentage). 😅 That's because #Hiveblocks and other Hive blockchain explorers (such as https://hive.ausbit.dev/) use "Voting Power" as the label for how much your next vote will be depending on how you have recently voted. 😏 !LUV !CTP

Your Voting Power is currently less than 69%, so even if you completely pause voting for the next 24 hours, your VP after that time will just be about 89%. 🤓 I suggest cutting every vote (automatic or manual) you make from now on to half of your usual Voting Percentage until your Voting Power gets back to more than 90%. 😏 !LUV !CTP

It would likely take less than 3 seconds to change the Voting Percentage for each of the Hive accounts whose posts you automatically vote on (called "Fanbase" on #HiveVote), so having even 100 Hive accounts which you are part of the Fanbase would need less than 5 minutes of your time (especially if you use a desktop/laptop computer to do so). 🤓

Following 80 Hive accounts who post an average of about once a day would mean that you need to set your Voting Weight for each of them to less than 12.5% so that each one of their posts has a good chance of getting autovoted by you. 🤓 !PIZZA !CTP

Most of them are not voting once a day.... And especially this is what I hope to achieve. A lot of people disappear for some time or maybe for a long time... If all these people would autovote my posts even with a tiny upvote, it would bring me fair traction and income. And the good thing, for them as well since they get money for curation... I don't understand why it's so difficult to convince people about this !LUV !CTP

If those people you are referring to have (very) little Hive Power, then the autovoting from #HiveVote won't trigger. 🤓 I think it is roughly 22 Hive Power with at least 80% Voting Power. 🤔😏 !LUV !CTP

This I don't understand. If somebody is not using his account, the HP is being added automatically all the time. Why the autovoting wouldn't be triggered? When I post and they have HP (they do because they wouldn't be actively curating, nor would they have been posting for a while), they would autovote my post? Or do I mistake here? !LUV !CTP

That's what the creator of #HiveVote @mahdiyari set as a rule for autovoting, as what he said on a comment. 🤓 Votes whose equivalent is less than 15 Hive Power won't be broadcasted on the Hive blockchain, also taking into account the chosen Voting Percentage and available Voting Power. 😏

Anyway, you might want to vote for @mahdiyari as Hive Witness since you actively use and promote Hive.vote, but you need to remove at least one of your 30 Witness Votes (where the top 20 Hive Witnesses likely won't mind if you unvote them so that you can vote for Witnesses you like more). 🤗 !LUV !CTP

I'm still not sure if i really understand this... So if someone autovotes me with 1%, it's likely this autovote doesn't count, especially if the autovoter has a small account/HP?...
But when that same person curates manually with 1% it does count?... !LUV !CTP

If someone has decided to autovote your posts and comments with 1% of their Voting Percentage using #HiveVote, then they need to have at least 1,875 Hive Power to successfully autovote your content if their Hive account has at least 80% Voting Power. 🤓

Voting manually is already outside the scope of #HiveVote, so you can manually vote with any Voting Percentage on most Hive frontends (even #Ecency allows you to vote with as low as 0.1% Voting Percentage). 😏 !LUV !CTP

I can think of some types of Hive users which would want to autovote at 1%, which are the following: 🤓 !LOL !PIZZA

  • Hive users with large Hive Power whose 1% vote is already way beyond the dust threshold of $0.02
  • Hive users who like to vote to show appreciation and encouragement for their favorite authors more than obtaining or giving monetary rewards

1% of a vote from a Hive Whale (whose level requires about 600,000 Hive Power) is worth roughly 5,000 to 6,000 HP (depending on available Voting Power) that is already about twice your current Hive Power. 🤓 A 1% vote is many times better than a 0% vote, especially if it is already above the dust threshold. 😎

Voting at 1% allows a Whale curator to curate up to 500 posts (and comments) per 24 hours. 😏 !LUV !CTP

... and yes, I've been powering up for another 500 Hive. That is because Hive dropped as quickly as it pumped. My bot has been buying at 0,60+
Since I don't believe that we're not going to reach that level soon again, and not evne come near, I prefered not to continue with DCA, using the Hive instead for Hive Power and start DCA again on the 0,45 level to get some more Hive again (for free) !PGM !CTP

Some Hive users would say that it's more fun watching your Hive tokens grow by Powering Up HIVE and using them to curate (or lease on some dapps such as #DLease or #HiveEngine), rather than putting them on exchanges (or HBD savings at 20% annual interest) and trying to earn from them (manually or automatically). 🤓 Of course, that's only if you have time to manually curate. 😏 #NotFinancialAdvice 😅 !PGM !CTP
