A Day of Passport Adventures and Museum Wanderings in London
Hi guys, here I'm, with another day's adventure. π
I hope you won't need to apply for an Italian passport anytime soon, but if you do, proceed with extra care.
After a long and eventful day in London, filled with matters of utmost importance, we have finally returned home. Our primary mission for the day was to bring our son to the Italian Consulate to apply for his Italian passport. Little did we know that our journey would involve queuing, waiting, and unexpected museum wanderings.
With an appointment booked months in advance, we arrived at the Italian Consulate ready to tackle the passport application process. However, despite our prior arrangement, we found ourselves queuing outside the consulate. The queue lasted for about 15 minutes, and we were relieved that the weather was on our side, gracing us with a beautiful sunny day. I would rather not think about what it may be like if it were pouring.
Finally, it was time for our son to go inside the consulate alone since he is now over eighteen. To ensure someone could assist him with his request and document submission, he had to take a ticket and patiently wait for his turn. The waiting period stretched to nearly an hour before he was able to present his request form and necessary documents. Now, we eagerly await the completion of his passport.
After concluding our consulate visit, we decided to make the most of our time in London by visiting the British Museum. Our initial intention was to see a Chinese exhibition, but unfortunately, we arrived too late. Undeterred, we embarked on a spontaneous journey of exploration within the museum.
We wandered from one exhibit to another, marvelling at the diverse range of antique objects on display. Each room held a treasure trove of history, captivating our imaginations and offering glimpses into civilisations of the past.
As our day in London drew to a close, we made our way to the embankment, planning to take the tube to Kew Gardens, where our car was parked.
The leisurely walk allowed us to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the city, with iconic landmarks lining our path. The bustling energy of London enveloped us, creating a sense of excitement and adventure, even in our tired state.
Despite the unexpected twists and turns of the day, our trip to the Italian Consulate proved productive. We successfully navigated the procedures and submitted the necessary documents for our son's Italian passport. Additionally, our impromptu visit to the British Museum provided a captivating journey through time and culture, even if our original plan was foiled.
As we strolled along the embankment, we couldn't help but appreciate the vibrant spirit of London and the memories created during our day of passport adventures and museum wanderings.
Have a lovely time everyone! π
