ThreeTuneTuesday - The Eurythmics
Hello Hive Music Lovers!,
Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.
This week we go back to th 80s as there are so many great hits in this decade. It is truly an iconic era that stands out to me and today one of the biggest icons from that era The Eurythmics with Annie Lennox.
But first, for those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.
They have a myriad of hits and it is not so easy to narrow it down to my 3 favorites, but I will give it a try.
The first song is one of the most well known songs and shows the vocal talent of Annie Lennox. Could it be classed as a love song with the title Thorn in my side? I'm not so sure. But it has those typical 80s vibes and unique sound of The Eurythmics.
The second tune today is an 80s classic and somehow uplifting. The video is also mesmerising and really representive of the era. I love the scenes in the car for some reason.
No Eurythmics selection would be complete without my final tune 1984. One could say one of the most symbolic songs of the 80s. The agenda of the elite so aptly celebrated in an upbeat tune like this was brilliant.
Annie was somehow totally on key in the video and brought the song to life and made for a brilliant video too.
If the song doesn't spark an interest in reading the books from George Orwell, then I don't know what would.
The winner from last week's 5 LEN token giveaway was @seckorama Congratulations!

favourite Eurythmics tune .. hmm hard to pick but ...
Great choice, Annie has a great talent.
she does indeed
Now that you mention George Orwell, Annie Lennox looks like a character out of 1984.
That said, I haven't given Eurythmics a chance outside of Sweet Dreams. I should check their catalog. Thanks for the post!
She really got into the role and you could imagine her in the film. They have some great hits, worth checking out.
Oh. Please do! 🍹😋😋
Big fan!
Not with the Eurythmics, co-written and sung by Annie Lennox.
Goose bump moments!
I am listening to it now, what a great song, she really has an amazing talent. We have watched the LoTR trilogy many times too. Thanks for sharing.

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoIts a good choice, one of my favourites too. ☺️
It is stuff that everybody knows already, "every iron plays this song seven days a week" 😘
I agree with that! 🤗
Ann from The Tourists became Annie Lennox from Eurythmics and a legend was born.
I saw this before dinner and decided to keep with the holiday mood and do a ttt on The Tourists which she and Dave Stewart were in prior to Eurythmics...
Fave song would be Belinda....

I'm so completely uneducated when it comes to music that all I know about Eurythmics is that they joined Hare Krishna. Because that was written on a flyer I got shoved in my face by a Hare Krishna person once. Sting did too, I think? But listening to the songs you selected... wow, I have heard this, I have heard that - on the radio, leaking out from my classmates' walkmans etc - was that them?!!!
What surprises me here isn't that anyone who may have joined Hare Krishna makes good music, but that my classmates were allowed to listen to it.
They made some very popular music, but I had no idea they had joined the Hare Krishnas. I haven't seen any Hare Krishnas for some time, but the last time was pretty cool as they were singing and walking around town together.
Now that I think about it, I haven't seen them around lately either. I skipped classes in school to take "free cooking lessons" at the Hare Krishna center. Or, I skipped classes in school to provide free labour for the Hare Krishna lunch restaurant. Either way, I learned some basics of cooking that were very useful some years later when I left home. :)
Thats cool. I could easily see myself joining them a few years ago too. Even one of my fav songs too:
Lol, that was a funny song!
That is some statement!
Eurythmics, such a dynamic duo :)
I'll be probably boring with my choice, but I really like this one:)
They made some iconic tunes from the 80s era. A great choice, I know it is quite a popular tune. 🙂
I thought as much:) Maybe I am bit sentimental after all :D
Amazing selection, 'you made my day' as they say. It seems we share not only love to the 60-es but to 80-es as well --nice, I !LUV that. Sadly there are a lot of artists that are well known to me (like Thom Waits, for example) but in the time I was into them we were deprived of opportunity to watch their recent videos, and when YT was invented... I never specially cared to watch all available for each artist. Besides that, the stuff continue to pop-up from the dusty vaults. Which is amazing thing. So, thank you very much for bringing these gems to my eyes. I can watch Annie performing non-stop on reverse all day long!
Sorry, I hate to disappoint you... I may be the last idiot in the world, but I doubt watching a fancy clip even with such a beautiful women, will lead modern tik-tok generations to take a book and read it, especially such a serious reading as Orwell's '1984'. Let me share one video back; the visuals are influenced as you can guess by Orwell's 'Animal farm'. One of my forever fave tracks by Radiohead: 2+2=5 ... I wish everybody to read said book, but, uh... eh... the chances arent that big.

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoI think you are right sadly, the desire is not there with the bewilderment people are put through from a very young age. I would say Animal Farm would be the more important read of the 2 aswell. That is a great song by Radiohead and a super video. Thank you for sharing, I haven't seen it for some time.
I am glad you like the selection, Annie was pretty iconic from the 80s, it is amazing how she developed so well. Getting a reminder now and again on tuesdays is pretty good. 🙂
😀 Aha.. let me add a fruitful !PIZZA note 🍕 to our conversation.
Thanks, I do !LUV pizza! 😀
