Does it count if I've crafted parts of my setting off of other fiction that in turn crafted their stuff off real societies? 😂
I have one Kingdom that is based loosely on the Great Houses of Dune, as an example.

Works for me ! After all, Frank Herbert wove all kinds of historical ideas together when he wrote the books. The original book was basically a re-telling of the fall of Sassanid Persia with enough other threads woven in to make it something new and original.
Heck yeah. I'll make that my mission for the rest of the week then. I've been meaning to flesh these guys out in a meaningful way for a while, they're mostly broad strokes and rough ideas as I haven't had to set anything in that area yet.
