The band was formed in Hamburg in 1983, when Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders met for the first time. While the former carried out production work at a publishing house, the latter was looking for good songs to launch his solo career. After their first brief meeting, Thomas offered to sing "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", which Dieter had given him. This is how Modern Talking was born, with the blonde Dieter Bohlen handling the keyboards, but also having the opportunity to play other instruments such as guitar, bass and drums. Meanwhile, Thomas Anders, familiar with singing since childhood, lent his voice to compose the duo's song.

Modern Talking released their debut album First in 1985, whose lead single "You're My Heart, You're My Soul" made them famous. That same year they released their second album, Let's Talk About Love, which also became a huge hit around the world. In 1986, Modern Talking released two albums, Ready for Romance and In the Middle of Nowhere, which quickly became hits and included songs such as "Brother Louie", "Atlantis Calling" and "Geronimo's Cadillac". "Reached.

At this point, personal differences between the two members of Modern Talking begin to affect their professional relationship. However, Modern Talking's contract with the label forced them to record two more albums in 1987, The Romantic Warriors and In the Garden of Venus. This is how Modern Talking ended. Arguments and conflicts between Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders led to both blaming each other for the band's demise. In fact, the excessively intense pace of production (up to two albums per year) caused a certain degree of saturation and exhaustion of ideas among fans. Modern Talking's original sound was more instrumental, but they failed to keep up with the trend and lost interest as the decade progressed.
