Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 150 / Under the shade of the tree

Greetings friends! In this new year, I want to share with you, some pictures that I managed to take on a visit I made to the park.

Santos Michelena Park is one of my favorite places to walk and exercise. It is located in the city of Maracay where I live. It has a lot of vegetation and fauna that lives in it, especially the birds that fly and brighten the atmosphere with their songs.

I have observed several species of birds, and among these, the Creole canary or roof canary, Sicalis flaveola. Is very beautiful for the coloration of their feathers of an intense yellow.

That day at 9 a.m., it was very hot, and the sun was in all its splendor. For the last two months, the temperatures have been higher than average for this time of the year, and the shade of the trees, whose leaves have not fallen, is the coolest and most preferred environment for the birds.

On my walk, I stopped under a group of trees when I heard the sweet song of several birds.

I saw a canary on the branch of a very leafy, Flamboyant tree that had fruits. Large pods hanging from its branches.

I approached it carefully so that I could photograph it, since the camera on my phone does not allow me to take very sharp pictures from far away.

And I was able to do so. He spent some time under the cool shade of the tree, just resting, and I imagine him escaping from the intense sun.

Other Creole canaries hopped to the ground and then stood for a while on a fence. There they stayed until they flew to the ground, possibly searching for food among the dry branches and stones.

But the best thing about this whole environment is that these birds are free; they can fly wherever they want and live according to what nature has designed for them. It is very nice to be watching them without intervening other than to take a few pictures.
