Hunting For Treasures And Digging For Gold - Lisk, SoneFi, Linea & MilkyWay
Hunting for Treasures and Digging for Gold... that’s what the Web3 frontier feels like right now. And if you know where to look, the real gems start to shine. This cycle I’m not just watching from the side-lines! This cycle I’m treasure hunting.
Lately, my map has been pointing to some very promising coordinates! My compass directed me towards Lisk, a holographic cube gave me SoneFi, the ancient quest on Linea continued, and there's MilkyWay.... the airdrop that keeps being delayed!
I’ve got my digital pickaxe out and started exploring, staking, testing, and tracking these projects like hidden gold veins in the vast Web3 wilderness. The hustle never stops, because when you dig deep enough you don’t just find tokens ... you find ecosystems ready to explode.
Let’s start with Lisk and the airdrop that stopped after one season even if more seasons were announced. They want to deliver a better experience, and the postponement of season Two comes as a way to analyse and implement the users' feedback!
Lisk was stepping into the spotlight after years of building in the shadows, bringing app chains to the masses with its smooth developer experience and deep focus on onboarding the next generation of builders. The airdrop attracted the hunters, and 139,089 explorers hustled for a slice of the pie!
With its Ethereum alignment and a long-term vision finally materializing, Lisk feels like one of those quiet giants that’s just getting warmed up. I've seen many users being disappointed by the allocation, but to be honest... I was happy with mine.
I finished #1143, which puts you in the top 0.82% of all participants. That’s elite status! My share was 143.3 LSK, valued at $80 on distribution day. I don't understand why others where unhappy, as most tasks and check-ins needed only few seconds. The rewards will match the effort (usually!).
Then there’s SoneFi, a project that’s rethinking the way we engage with DeFi by blending data, AI, and smart financial tools into one seamless experience. It’s not just about yield... it’s about insight, precision, and control. The alpha here is real if you’re watching closely.
I explored a strategy that had 70% APR and airdrop points by suppling stablecoins! The aim is to simplify blockchain interactions and provide a user-friendly Web3 experience, a vision that SoneFi powers with a suite of financial services, including lending, borrowing, and yield farming, tailored for the Soneium ecosystem.
SoneFi was one of the first protocols I explored on Soneium, a place where I started earning points for the $SOFIA airdrop. It was there where I launched a tractor related memecoin, done some trading, and watched my points grow!
SoneFi's development aligns with Soneium's mission to bridge Web2 and Web3, making blockchain technology more accessible to everyday users. I just hope that my 71.9 mainnet points will be enough to get some $SOFIA, and my layer2 exploration will reward me some treasure chests!
Linea is another treasure in the making. As an L2 built by Consensys, it carries the weight of real infrastructure and serious ambition. With its zkEVM compatibility and growing ecosystem, Linea is positioning itself as a powerhouse in the next wave of Ethereum scaling. It’s early, but the momentum is undeniable.
The hype was maintained through initiatives like the Linea Voyage campaign, rewarding users with LXP points for active participation. These efforts suggest a commitment to recognizing and incentivizing early adopters. However, the project has faced criticism regarding its communication strategies and perceived delays in token generation events.
Linea's team has indicated a preference to wait for more favourable market conditions before proceeding with the token launch, aiming to maximize its impact. This let me farm a bit more on Nile, currently having over five thousand LXP-L and 1250 Linea XP! Will this be enough?
Shall I talk about the zkSync Ignite campaign? The initiative was launched by zkSync to transform its Layer 2 scaling solution into a unified liquidity hub for DeFi Elastic chains. However, the zkSync Ignite campaign came to an abrupt end, leaving many in the community surprised and curious.
According to the DeFi Steering Committee, the decision was driven by a combination of strategic and external factors that made continuing the campaign unfeasible. One of the key reasons was the team's shift in focus toward the Elastic Network, which they see as the cornerstone of zkSync’s long-term roadmap.
In addition, the campaign faced interoperability hurdles. The underlying technology for native cross-chain compatibility wasn’t ready in time, which complicated the distribution of liquidity across the network. These tech delays made it harder to achieve the kind of seamless value movement Ignite was designed to support.
Compounding these internal challenges were the realities of a bearish market, prompting zkSync to adopt a more cautious approach to spending and resource allocation. In an environment where capital efficiency is critical, continuing Ignite under those conditions didn’t make strategic sense.
The cancellation left a noticeable gap in momentum, but the shift may ultimately signal a more focused and foundational phase of development for zkSync’s evolving vision. My reward farmed until the sudden halt reached 4.32 $ZK tokens, a considerable amount compared to other campaigns. Those tokens were stacked, in an effort to generate perpetual rewards! Hunting for treasures and digging for gold!
And finally, MilkyWay—possibly the best-kept secret of them all. The protocol is carving out its own path in the modular space, bridging Cosmos and Celestia in a way that could unlock a new layer of interoperability.
The tech is innovative, but the vibe? The kind that hints at big things on the horizon. But my dilemma is why MilkyWay airdrop has experienced multiple delays so far? Some call it ... the airdrop that never happened!
The delays were primarily due to the project's strategic decision to develop its own blockchain, known as Minitia, within the Cosmos ecosystem. This initiative aims to enhance flexibility and customization for long-term innovation. Consequently, the launch of the $MILK token has been postponed to align with the completion of Minitia and is now expected in the second half of this year.
My expectations are low after so many mixed messages, and my milk points count is not as high as I wanted! All I was able to farm was 1,517 points, and being 83,469 in the global leaderboard is not great!
In the fast-moving world of Web3, projects like zkSync, Linea, MilkyWay are all racing to shape the future of blockchain through innovation, community rewards, and ecosystem expansion. But as we’ve seen... the path to progress isn’t always smooth. Airdrops get delayed, campaigns get cut short, and expectations don’t always align with timelines!
