My Remarkable Journey - Four Years Of Splinterlands
It's the festive season IRL and an anniversary party in the Splinterlands! Standing ovation for the only play2earn blockchain game that didn't bored and disapointed me! I am celebrating five years of playing and learning!
Splinterlands is a game changer in the blockchain gaming world, delivering an epic mix of fast-paced action, deep strategy, and the power of decentralization. I’ve been hooked since 2020, and every battle since has been an absolute blast!
Splinterlands has a special place in my heart because it kept my play-to-earn passion alive, even when other blockchain games left me feeling burnt out. Don’t even get me started on Alien Worlds, Wombat Dungeon Master, RPlanet, and others!
The game’s addictive gameplay, rewarding mechanics, and thriving community reignited my love for blockchain gaming, showing that play-to-earn can actually be fun and sustainable.
How it started? Are you ready for a blast from the past? Back in the days when I had no clue what's ++Splinterlands++, or how great this game turned out to be?
Hey y'all, can you believe it's 4 years of farming victories? Big thanks to all the battle-loving folks who've joined this wild ride! Let's keep sowing those cards and reaping epic wins. Here's to more legendary brawls!
It was Christmas Eve, the house was full of holiday cheer, and my brother and I were enjoying a festive dinner. In between bites of turkey and sips of Gin & Tonic, he asked, "What games are you playing these days?"
I shrugged. "Nothing much. Play-to-earn games aren't really doing it for me. Too much grind, not enough fun."
He grinned. "Have you tried Splinterlands?"
I raised an eyebrow. "What’s that?"
"It’s a play-to-earn card game, but it’s actually fun. It’s like Magic: The Gathering meets digital chess, and you can earn real crypto while you play. Plus, you can sell cards if you want."
I was intrigued but skeptical. "Sounds cool, but is it worth getting into?"
He smiled. "Trust me bro! Play a few games, and you’ll see. It’s about strategy, not just making money."
That night, after everyone went to bed, I decided to give it a shot. My first battle was a mess, but I could feel the excitement. By morning, I was hooked.
And just like that, what started as a casual holiday conversation became my new obsession. Took me a while to understand the basics...
Playing over 32,000 battles and winning half of them is no small accomplishment, especially over the course of four years. It shows dedication, skill, and perseverance. Winning 50% of the time, especially in competitive games, can indicate solid strategy and adaptability.
My 28-game win streak on Wild is seriously impressive! That level of consistency and skill is hard to achieve, especially when the competition is fierce.
Keeping a streak going that long requires not only mastery of the mechanics but also adaptability to different matchups and opponents. Was there a specific deck or strategy that helped me keep it rolling, or was it just a mix of factors coming together perfectly?
You could see I am playing less on Modern, because my old cards are good and at higher levels. The Rebellion deck keeps growing but I still can't compare with the OGs.
In this game I had to adapt to Might Make Right, with only the units with three damage being available for selection. I went for strenght and health!
Tarsa: +1 Attack & +1 Health
Halfling Refugee: Melee with Weary
Night Stalker: Melee with Sneak
Venka The Vile: Melee with Piercing and Charge
My tactic was to deal more damage than my opponent, and facing one unit looked an easy task. The Mycelic Infantry is a hard nut to crack but can't handle brute strenght at higher standards!
The Halfling Refugee went weary in the first round and missed his attack. Venka and the Night Stalker didn't, and I was cruising through the battle! Venka delivered another heavy hit, and then the Halfling Refugee snapped out of his weary state and delivered the deadly blow! See the full battle here!
Congrats to me on hitting 4 years and kicking it off with a win! After playing this long, I can definitely feel I'm showing more wisdom and cunning in my gameplay.
With all this experience, I'm better at recognizing patterns, adapting to changing metas, and staying calm under pressure. I’ve also gotten better at managing my resources and predicting my opponent’s moves, which helps me make smarter decisions.
