Opening Pandora's Box - Splinterlands Battles I Forgot About
Splinterlands is not... just another game! Splinterlands brought a revolution in blockchain gaming, seamlessly blending strategy with the perks of decentralization. The players truly own their in-game assets, and the battles are epic!
Whether you're purchasing cards from the shop, unlocking reward chests, or opening packs, each asset is securely stored on the blockchain, giving you complete control over your collection.
The Social Media Challange asks if we have battles of epic proportions that deserves to be seen by all, and I have a whole draft article with battles I saved. Unfortunatelly I don't always have the time and they kept addint and adding. I finally opened Pandora's Box and chose the oldest battle in there for today's article!
Let me brag about a card that can be used in Wild and Survival modes, and will defenetly bring some hot dynamics. But... there's always the random and the unexpected. Today's plan was something... the execution was totally different!
What's Survival Mode? Are you for real? This mode introduces a card fatigue system and eliminates energy requirements, intensifying the battlefield dynamics. The defeated cards enter a cooldown period, rendering them unusable until revived. This mechanic demands meticulous collection management and strategic foresight.
Scrolled all the way down through the article I called "Splinterlands Battle Bank" and found an interesting fight for survival! Battle Bank may sound like bottle bank, but I assure you there's no recycling involved. Welcome to chaos and instant disappointment, as the links of those old battles were not leading to a battle... but to the main menu. I felt defeated!
Over 100 battles that I've thought will deserve a share were not available anymore, probably deleted from the game's cache after the newest updates and upgrades. Unfortunately, I will not be able to share "Win Brawl Aimless Keep Your Distance & Odd Ones Out" or "Drybone raider, reflect, amplify, melee meyhem alvar void armor super battle" with you guys!
However, upon checking all thise battle links one by one ... I finally found one that worked! Under the title "New Hall Of Legends v Tofu" I found this battle that was trully remarkable! Tofu the OG summoner versus a Dragon/Earth team of melee warriors and spellcarsters! Currious about the outcome?
Helios Matriarch: +1 Speed & +1 Gladiator Card
Djinn Chwala: Melee with Thorns
Grund: Melee with Double-Strike
Regal Peryton: Caster with Flying
Katrelba Gobson: Melee with Double-Strike, Sneak and Bloodlust
Meriput Mossmender: Caster with Repair and Dodge
Terraceous Hulk: Melee with Void Armor and Taunt
The mana cap was generous and the battle-rules helped me to create an epic strategy! I used Grund behind the djinn because the Manouvers rule gave him Reach, and units with double-strike to counter the Divine Shield boosts! This was awesome, and facing Tofu made it even more remarkable!
The wild-card for this duel was the Terraceous Hulk, strategically set in the last positon. The taunt will split the damage, and Djinn Chwala will deal pleanty of Thorns damage to the melee that will engage with her. Here's where the Meriput Mossmender comes handy, with a focus on reparing the djinn's armor.
The opponent's strategy was set on survival, as Tofu boosted his allies with Thornes, Triage and Scavenger. Round one was pointless, with most of the units losing their Divine Shield, while the second round started the true carnage!
Katrelba Gobson was the first one down, a painful demise delivered by the Mycelic Slipspawn thornes, and more followed her into the grave! The Meriput Mossmender repairded Chawla's armor, and gave her another chance to fight. Meanwhile, the Regal Peryton managed to eliminate the taunty Slipspawn and clear the way for other units.
The Magi Of Chaos kept adding health through his Scavenger ability, and turned into an issue! Grund's attacks delivered a deadly blow to the Mycelic Infantry, forcing the opponent's Grund to become the tank! Not for long... as Djinn Chwala sacrificed herself but took bad Grund with her!
The Meriput Mossmender repaired the Terraceous Hulk's armor, and this turned the tides of the war in my favor. The casters are targeting the hulk, but will only hit his void armor!
You know the story of the mossmender? Tamel Brightwhisker was something of a prodigy, not the average meriput! Using nothing more than a little moss and elbow grease, he can heal wounds, cure maledictions, and reinforce damaged armor twice as fast as any mouse around.
The battle was now Grund-less, and the Meriput Mossmender was working hard to keep the Terraceous Hulk alive. Another repair ... another chance to strike fear into the enemies! Then another one ... and anothe round survived!
The tiny Meriput is not only a great support unit, but also a deadly caster! He took upon an unique opportunity and delivered the final blow to the Goblin healer!
The Regal Peryton turned out to be a good tank, while the Hulk was attracting the Magi of Chaos attacks. Same pattern as before, with the Meriput Mossmender shooting magical bolts and reparing armor with accuracy!
It is clear who was the savior today, and how my strategy turned a difficult battle into a victory! The Magi of Chaos had 16 health at the start of the 8th round, but he was alone against two other casters!
I started to be afraid when the Regal Peryton fell down from the sky, and the Meriput being to puny for a pumped Magi! However, the Terraceous Hulk had reach and unleashed powerful melee strikes! He's armor was topped-up enough times to make a difference! See the full battle here!
