The focus should be on ... heavy hitters! Units with Stun in the team will trigger the Knock Out ability, dealing double damage if the enemy monster is stunned! May the gods of random be ever in my favor! May your punch always land!

Chapter I - Retaliation! I wanted to go big on heavy hitters for this battle, and the generous mana pool let me go wild!

I had 56 mana to use on owerpowered melee fighters, and the Mayhem ability made them attack from any postition. Kelya was summoned, and her army was selected based on how hard the unit could hit

Kelya Frendul: +1 Armor & +1 Speed

Diemonshark: Melee with Trample

Legionnaire Alvar: Melee with Void Armor

Disintegrator: Melee with Demoralize

Drybone Raider: Melee/Ranged with Double-Strike

Coastal Sentry: Melee with Doube-Strike

Demented Shark: Melee with Inspired

I went crazy on Heavy Hitters and diversification, with five different abilities shared between six units. My opponent went for a very similar line-up, with Kelya as boss and four units I had selected as well.

I watched the first round unfold and I thought having the Diemonshark in the first position wasn't that wise. Maybe an unit with Thornes, Flying or Shield would have been more appropriate. The Diemonshark has fallen, but in exchange I eliminated Torhilo the Frozen. Not much to be seen so far, but it looked quite even!

I was right that having the Diemonshark in the first position was a mistake, and I was wrong that the game looked quite even! Alvar was down, but I took the Coastal Sentry with me. The opponent's Disintegrator was eliminated, but mine followed. It was now when I noticed that I was fighting against much higher levels, and the other units where better!

The Diemonshark repleced the Demented Shark, and even if my army returned to full melee attak power... it didn't matter! The Diemonshark's retaliation was deadly, and each time he made a victim ... he attacked again... and again!

The beast also enraged, followerd by a plethora of retaliations and trample! My army was quickly massacrated! See the full battle here!

Chapter II - Enrage and Smash! I created a team of heavy hitters and made sure I was able to tap into the Enrage bonus! I had 42 mana to chose the big punch guys and those monsters that will get to insane melee power. Let's smash!

Tarsa: +1 Melee Attack +1 Health

Molten Ogre: Tank with Demoralize

Fineas Rage : Melee with Reach

Ant Miners: Melee with Scavenger

Tenyii Striker: Melee with Sneak

Sand Worm: Melee with Sneak

Pyromancer: Ranged with Blast

image.png

The first question will be... why I choose the Pyromancer with Blast when the monsters will enrage? By mistake! I w as supposed to click on the Efreet Elder but gone side-ways rushed by the few seconds left to select my team!

However, I was lucky the opponent team was mainly casters and Enrage only boosts the melee attack and speed. I had to face a classic Obsidian team, with the Unicorn Mustang set as a tank that can take a lot of magic damage!

My Molten Ogre got enraged... and died! I managed to get rid of the annoying Mycelic Slipspawn with taunt, and the battlefield was open to carnage!

image.png

Fineas Rage is a good guy, but a bad tank! I struggled with the Unicorn Mustang, until the Pyromancer finally delivered a deadly blow. The situation was turning critical, but the Ant Miners kept surviving. Whenever they were going low on health, the Scavenger took them above the damage dealt by the next attack.

The Tenyii Striker made it look easy, as his sharp blade took care of the Baby Yoda healer. The Ant Miners going one health up, and staying up for another round. Not sure how hard an ant can bite, but the enraged miners done enough to seal the victory. See the full battle here!
