Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets - The Wrath Of The Equalizer
The classic weekly battle challenge retired to make way for the Battle Mage Secrets series, making it more entertaining. This new set-up adds a focus on dynamic strategies, as players will be able to choose from a greater selection of more diverse units to bring into battle.
Let's enjoy the **Equalizer **ruleset, where all the monsters will start with the same health, based on the highest health on either team. The buffs and debuffs are done afterward, and this will impact the base health.
Big Health Archers! This battle couldn't be great as it had 13 mana cap, plus the Equalizer and Going The Distance battle-rules. All the monsters will start with the same health, based on the highest health on either team. The buffs and debuffs will impact the base health after the battle will start.
Going The Distance removes all melee and caster options, and only ranged monsters can be used in the battle. Not a great selection pool with only rangers to choose from and 13 mana available!
Qid Yuff: Buffing all allies with Piercing
Lava Launcher: Ranged with Close Range
My thought process was to buff the Lava Launcher with Piercing, so any excess damage on the armor will damage the health of the target. Once the battle started I realized that this battle was already lost!
Why? Because Tarsa buffed the enemy Lava Launcher to 7 health. Quick thinking and the 6 armor will be destroyed in two hits, and will go hand to hand until ... I will take the opponent to 1 health and then lose the fight! See the full battle here!
**Little Fockers! **Another strange mix, with the Equalizer doubled by Little League. All fun with 32 mana cap, but only monsters that cost 4 mana or less being available for this battle.
Obsidian: +1 Spell Power
Hill Giant: Melee with 7 HP
Khimer Princess: Caster
Venari Spellsmith: Caster with Dispel
Elven Mystic: Caster
Djinn Biljka: Caster with Camouflage
Venari Marksrat: Ranged with Martyr
I had to face a fire team boosted with health and melee attack by Tarsa. I placed the Venari Marksrat last, hoping to be taken down by sneaky attacks.
The Hill Giant was the first to fall, and the Khimer Princess had to tank. I manage to equalize the battle after taking down the Antoid Platoon. The spell damage ignored the armor and the Shield ability.
And then... you realize your tactic was wrong! I could have set Djinn Biljka last, as his Camouflage ability would have keep him hidden. The Venari Marksrat in front of the Djinn would have triggered Martyr and boost the caster's stats.
The Venari Marksrat in the last position back-fired, as he was the last stand in my team. One little thing could have changed the whole battle ... or maybe not! See the full battle here!
