Splinterlands Community Challenge - The Madcap Magus And The Hall Of Legends
Let's dive into Splinterlands! I want to share my remarkable quest for better cards, and the hustle done to reach higher ranks! Let's talk about amazing battles, great strategies and all those things that makes the game incredible fun!
Splinterlands is a strategic auto-battler multiplayer digital-collectible trading card game on the Hive blockchain! Each unit you hold is minted on the blockchain as an NFT, which adds GameFi in the mix.
I will soon celebrate four years since I dived into the game, and it's still remarkable how the updates and changes kept Splinterlands entertaining.
Are you ready for a remarkable month? The festive season has arrived! Some of the game's art has been temporarily replaced with holiday-themed versions. Also... five new rule sets were added:
- Heavy Metal: You can only summon armored units
- Might Makes Right: You can only summon units with 3+ power
- Need for Speed: You can only summon units with 3+ speed
- Deflection Field: All units have the Reflection Shield ability.
- Beefcakes: You can only summon units with 5+ health
It's amazing that some updates happen behind the scenes and you notice them only when they blast you with positivity. I was happy when I've got some chests for reaching Gold I this season.
All players will now receive a one-time rewards when they reach new tiers! Wild for me when I unlocked Gold I and received 15 reward chests for the hustle! Got a decent amount of Merits, Rebellion cards and potions. Now lets push towards Diamond!
The Splinterlands are always shifting, and the battle mages looking into dynamic strategies that will bring victories. All players will be able to choose from a greater selection of more diverse units to bring into battle as the game evolves.
The Glint shop provides for the worthy ones, and each can spend it the way they think will bring more power. Some prefer Gladius Cases, some prefer chests, and I like to mix it up.
Last season was a generous one, and the 14,446 Glint in the bag was good enough for some upgrades. I tried various strategies and getting guaranteed cards is by far the best ones.
I still believe in random, and I am still dreaming to get a legendary card from a chest ... but the dream turned into a nightmare. I spent 7500 Glint on an epic draw and the Archane Weaver is now ready to cast it's web into the battlefield. The four rare draws were decent, adding up cards for future upgrades.
The chests? Still a fiasco! Spent 4,000 Glint for four chest and got legendary potions and common cards. The value of the 11 cards is 1650 glint, and the potions will round up the drop value to 2000 Glint! Still down 50% on this try... I am wondering why I'm so stubborn with chests?
The amount of Rebellion cards keeps growing, and I keep upgrading them. It will serve the purpose once the cards reach level three or four, and the summoners will be able to use the extra stats.
The plan for next season is to stop buying chests, and focus on guaranteed cards. As the rare ones are almost completed, I would probably focus on epics or save more and get legendary draws.
It's remarkable how some of the Gladiator cards are still far better than most of the new cards. Most of them are upgraded, and the Bloodlust is making the difference in many battles.
The opponents panic when Chimney Wallstop, Quora or Katie show up, and there are lots of options for battle with low mana. Orella Abadon is a beast when it's time for Little League duels!
You could also unleash the power of the Rebellion's legends! Each exclusive promo card celebrates a character who played a pivotal role in the rebellion. Now, they'll pay a pivotal role on your team in the arena! Own a piece of history and dominate your opponent with these iconic heroes!
There's a whole event running along with the perpetual introduction of the new legendary cards! You won't find these promo cards in packs, airdrops, or future sales. They'll only be sold in the Hall of Legends. And once they're gone, they're gone for good.
I am a humble battle mage and I could only afford the cheap cards from the Hall of Legends, getting one Sanctus Vicar and one Night Stalker.
Sanctus Vicar Logan Rockford, high priest of the Church of Gryyja, Goddess of Protection, joined the people of Feranon when they rose against the Chaos Empire. Without him, the uprising would have failed before it began.
When the Belurocian Empire joined the rebellion, Barashkukor sent a contingent of the Darkguard to Necrulencia to liberate the city. Among them was the onyx orc Jasch Mochmul... the Night Stalker!
I've chatted about so many overpowered cards, and the time has come to share my all-time favorite! Say hello to the Madcap magus! Take some clothes off and be ready to enter the secret playroom! You need to sign a contract and never ever tell others about what we are doing there! Let me tell you that this battle-rule is as rare as shady billionaires! ROCK SOLID!
This little fungi is so cool that it can please you instantly! The Madcap Magus is a game-changer, with his Scattershot and Life Leech skills. Kinky mode activated, and the pleasure tools are on!
Only 27 mana for team selection, and the Super-Sneak battle-rule added in the mix for extra drama. All melee units will attack the monster set on the last position, so let's adapt to this. The Venari Marksrat was the wingman, making Quora happy with Martyr!
Lobb Lowland: -1 Speed to enemies & +1 Gladiator card
Xenith Monk: Melee tank with Heal
Madcap Magus: Caster with Scattershot and Life Leech
Quora Towershead: Melee/Caster with Heal and Bloodlust
Venari Marksrat: Ranged with Martyr
Thaddius was a good choice, as he reduced Quora's magical damage by one and the health of all my units. The overall team selection was good, but not exceptional. All units were blessed with Sneak from the battle-rule but Uraues and the Silent Sha-Vi already had this ability.
The first round was full of random attacks and general focus on the units in the last positions. The Madcap Magus was shooting like crazy, and the Xenith Monk used his healing powers to delay his demise.
It got hotter when the Venari triggered the Martyr on Quora, as she prepared for the bloodlust feast that was yet to come. Massive heal to get back to full health and all eyes on the Dhampir archer.
Let it be carnage! No.. not the symbiote, just Quora becoming the Grim Reaper! She gracefully landed both attacks, and was time for bloodlust! Mr. Gray was in a good mode, and he fancy Quora!
The sudden stats boost was beneficial, as the enemies set the bullseye on her back. But never underestimate the power of heal... as she maintained her health at higher levels.
The Xenith Monk done the same thing as Quora, using his healing ability to stay alive! Quora's new target was more elusive, but the Silent Sha-vi fate was already decided by the gods of war.
Quora tired again at the start of the fifth round, and this time her effort granted one more dose of bloodlust! The Xenith Monk was handling well the Carrion Shade, keeping his health bar at maximal levels. Everyone was focusing to damage Quora and ignored the Madcap Magus, as the little guy kept bulking up.
Quora dodged the Arachne Thug attack and managed to heal in time, as she flexed her muscles for the endgame! Heal, spell, bloodlust... sounds simple! Quora added another name on her hitlist, as Uraeus was blasted, and bloodlust made her eyes glimmer!
No one thought that such a beautiful creature could be so deadly! Quora eliminated the Chaos Agent, dodged another attack and then healed herself to full health! Are we ignoring the 18-health mushroom or not?
It was fun to see how this battle was a one horse race! Or call it a walk in the park, through mushrooms that grow as big as horses! Quora with another deadly spell, and a final bloodlust that took her to 16 health and 15 cumulated damage.
Are we still ignoring Mr.Gray's mushroom even when it has with 19 inches? Sorry... I meant health points? Shades of gray everywhere! See the full battle here!
