The Splinterlands Community Challenge: PVM Will Not Survive The Survival Mode

Splinterlands shines as a groundbreaking force in the blockchain gaming world, and I love it because it’s blending strategy and the powerful perks of decentralization. This world is ever-shifting, and the game-play offers an infinity of opportunities!

A lot happened during the last Splinterlands update, along with the big introduction of the Survival Mode! This new mode comes in addition to Modern and Wild, and includes a card fatigue system and no energy requirement!

Boot up, warriors! It’s time to dive into Survival Mode—where only the strongest, smartest, and most strategic will last! Do you have the stamina of a Saiyan, the tactical mind of a Jedi, or the determination of a dungeon-crawling adventurer? Prove it!

Share your battle-tested strats, near-miss moments, and epic victories with the community. Let’s find out who will reign supreme in this ultimate test of endurance!

Leaderboards are also back in action! This time, the top 100 players in every league will score Glint rewards! Think you’ve got what it takes? Climb the ranks and claim your prize!

The leaderboard for which you'll be competing will be determined based on your rating at the start of each season, after the end of season reset is applied. You'll compete for that leaderboard for that entire season even if your rating falls above or below the normal range for that league during the season.

Survival mode will have an SPS reward pool of the same size and that works in exactly the same way as the reward pools for Modern and Wild formats, and this sounds juicy enough for me!

**Here's PVM's Survival Mode tl;dr! **

This brand-new battle format where you can unleash your entire collection, and no energy is required! But be warned... when a card falls in battle, it stays down until revived. No rentals, no cross-format play! Survival Mode is a true test of endurance!

  • All cards are auto-flagged for Survival Mode, but you can disable this in your collection settings.
  • New filters help manage your flagged, unflagged, and cooldown cards.
  • Only Season Rentals apply, and cooldowns reset at the end of each season.
  • Resurrected cards that survive the battle stay alive!
  • Surrendering costs you one random unit and summoner on cooldown.

**PVM will not survive the Survival Mode! **

Well... let me tell you that PVM will not survive the Survival more! It's hard bro! You can use any card from any set... but there’s a catch! When your cards go down, they’re out of commission until their cooldown is up. That means no brawls, no land use, no tournaments, no ranked play... once a card falls... they are benched everywhere.

Hit up the Battle Lobby’s Academy Panel for cooldown times by foil and rarity. Survival Mode isn’t for the faint of heart, but if you’ve got the skills and the collection, the risk is worth the rewards.

I joined my first game and got masacrated! Same in the second one, and two summoners and twelve cards turned unsable in all modes! Survival Mode flips the script and your cards are now your energy! No more endless spamming of your strongest lineup!

Instead of just stacking one maxed-out copy of each card, you’ll need to think like a true crypto degen! How many copies do you really need to keep grinding? Let me make it clear... the cards that are eliminated in a battle are out even if you win the game!

With just a couple of tweaks, Survival Mode turns the whole game on its head, rewarding hoarders and strategists alike. It’s no longer just about power...it’s about the depth of the deck.

The core ranked battle mechanics are still intact, with seasons, resets, matchmaking and all the usual degen grind! What's gone? Those win streak rating bonuses. What else? My luck! Played two more games and lost both!

Survival Mode isn’t just a game... it’s a war of attrition. When a card falls in battle, it’s not just taking a breather... it’s benched across the entire ecosystem. That means no Survival, no Modern, no Wild, no Tournaments, no Guild Brawls...just a sad, sidelined warrior waiting for its cooldown to end.

But don’t worry, you’re not completely rug-pulled. Cards on cooldown are still tradeable, rentable, delegatable, and can even keep grinding on land. Think of it like a battle-hardened NFT which you can flip, stake, or let it chill in the wallet. However, you can’t throw it back into the arena until it’s rested.

But the worst part is that the summoners go down with their team. Lose a fight and your summoner joins the fallen. Draw? Consider it a lucky break and both the summoners live to fight another day.

This is the place where your diamond hands meet battlefield endurance! Play smart, or watch your lineup vanish faster than a low-cap altcoin in a bear market. I have 27 cards depleated and PVM can't survive the survival mode!

Maybe I will give it another try when the season is close to it's end! Here's my conclusion... Survival Mode is like staking, but with blood, sweat, and cards!
