Frost and Cranberry (fable)

Frost and Cranberry

In a fierce winter, in a snowy meadow,
Cranberry stood among the snowdrifts.
She was lethargic and lonely,
Not knowing how to survive in frosty darkness.

And Frost around was how white blanket,
He covered the earth and grass.
Frost was proud of his whiteness,
As the most precious of earthly treasures.

"Oh, Cranberry, why are you so small?
You don't have any power.
And I, Frost, so strong and omnipresent,
I cover everything on the ground from above!"

"Well, Frost, I'm small, but strong!
I'm patient and very hardy.
And let the ice fluff cover me,
I still give the world my beauty and taste!"

"But, Cranberry, there is no beauty in winter,
Only cold ice and gray darkness.
And I, Frost, though I'm hard and gloomy,
It's I who give the world my impeccable purity."

"But, Frost, winter is a time of rest,
Time to enjoy the beauty of silence.
And I, Cranberry, though I small,
I give people my juicy berries!"

So Cranberry and Frost argued with increasing force,
And everyone saw only own truth.
They cursed and shouted at each other,
Until the snowdrifts around
Were covered with something red.
And it wasn't Cranberry, it wasn't Cranberry.
So we learned that Frost also has blood.

The original text was written by me in Russian. I haven't studied English systematically so the translation may not be ideal. The main work was done by Google Translate, I just corrected obvious absurdities, where I noticed them and where I did not confuse them with brilliant insights.
