Gasoline and Camel (fable)

Gasoline and Camel

Camel walked sedately through desert,
His fur shone beautifully in the sun,
But Gasoline shone in the night,
And shone brighter than the stars.

Camel could attract attention
With his beauty and grace,
But people just needed Gasoline,
Like fuel for motors.

Camel spoke to Gasoline:
"You're dirty and smelly like dirt!"
And Gasoline answered him:
"Are you trying to be smarter than everyone?"

Camel haughtily looked at Gasoline
And didn't want to talk to him.
Gasoline didn't try to make friends with Camel,
This activity was completely useless.

Once Gasoline caught fire,
And burned like a real star.
And Camel stood by
And afraid to put out fire.

Gasoline did not suffer for long,
He burned before could light stars.
Camel realized that light of fire
Could be fatal for someone.

And now Camel stands proudly
Among other animals
And tells them stories,
How he was friends with Gasoline
And how he wanted to give life for friend,
But didn't make it.

The original text was written by me in Russian. I haven't studied English systematically so the translation may not be ideal. The main work was done by Google Translate, I just corrected obvious absurdities, where I noticed them and where I did not confuse them with brilliant insights.
