Countdown to NN Marathon Rotterdam 2025 | 4 days to go!
Hi all! Welcome to my running blog!
In four days I will be running the NN Marathon Rotterdam 2025, in an attempt to set a new PR.
While you doing gain any additional fitness in race week, you don’t want to lose it either. You could benefit from some light workouts so you don’t tax your body that much (and minimize the effect on your glycosin storage). Basicly you want just enough effort to active before switching back to recovery / easy pace.
My run today attemped just that. I ran 10km in which the first 3km were tempo pace, after which I reduced my speed until I reached a heartbeat of +/- 145 bpm (easy zone 2)
My remaining race week schedule looks like this:
- april 10th +/- 5 km active recovery
- april 11th full rest
- april 12th 5km active recovery + 1 km kidsrun
- april 13th marathon
While full resting days are normally not really my cup of tea - this is an important aspect of the race preparation. Yesterday full resting day went ok. Little bored but was able to commit to not swapping resting with a recovery run.
Weather forecast!
The forecast changed from a day with clear sky to a rainy day with some wind. As I trained with all weather including heavy snow it will be fine for me. I do hope that the rain will be a little less for the slower runners - as the soaked socks can be that push they don’t need.
Happy running!
A little rain can be really nice to run in, but not to much!
Will be fun to see what result you gonna achieve 👏
Thanks man!
Yeah if you wear a running cap the rain should not bother at all. I need to get a poncho for the waiting at the start but other than that it is great to cool down w bit from a little rain!
