Today's run
With 12 days to go to the NN Marathon Rotterdam 2025 I decided to go for a tempo run today! In my schedule I was supposed to do an 11 km recovery run with a few 100m strides - but I felt strong and rested and wanted to have some fun!

I did go out without a real plan today - like I said I wanted to have some fun. I did a fast 1km after which I considered following up with the prescribed training (recovery + strides) but decided to make it a tempo run.

After this marathon I will include a little more speedwork training in my schedule so I can also work on my PR's on the shorter distances!

Tomorrow I will probably go for a recovery run (+/- 14 km) so that there is sufficient time to rest and recover for next week.

March running review
March featured all 3 of my peak training weeks which was definitly fun - but I also found it difficult to maintain in the third week. I was scheduled for 91 km - but I knew I would not be able to run on monday (and didn't expect to be able to run on friday). I was able to pick myself together and finish the last peakweek strong with 100 km total.

While I sometimes do two runs on one day - the "2" on March Sunday's are something else. After my own early morning long runs - I try to motivate my kids to train for the Rotterdam Kids run (which is hosted the day before the marathon). Here I encourage and cheer for them - which is making me feel very proud! I dare to say that last year the kids run experience was even more amazing than the marathon itself. Fun weeks ahead!

Happy running!
