A Little Live Gig - First Time Playing the Drums after 7 Years

How are you doing?
I´m good, having a wonderful weekend with awesome weather!
But since that big project at work is over, I am soooo tired and exhausted. I think I need a few more days to recover. 😄
I just want to upload a little video, because we had a small live gig (only 4 songs) on thursday.
It was my first time playing the drums on stage after almost 8 long years. And I also barely practised during that time. So to be honest, I was pretty nervous before the gig. And since we only had 2 hours to practise, it´s not the best level and quality. 😃 Sorry for this shitty cellphone recording. We didn´t have anything else...
I am always afraid to upload live videos from myself, because I am much too perfectionistic and not at a good level of playing the drums at all after all these years. But well, you need to start somewhere... And that´s what I do now. And it´s time to also bring this live music part to Hive.
So this is not the level I used to play some years ago. I used to play concerts with 1000-1500 people sometimes, and to be honest, everyone told me I was really good... So I should not feel ashamed to upload that stuff here. But I still do a bit... 😂
But I will just upload it now as a start point for myself. And I hope that I can manage to practise regularly to get back to my old level someday. And also I hope I find a real band soon. People I can play regularly with, and not only practise for a few hours for one gig.
I really miss band life, and I definitely want to make more live music again. Not only electronic music producing. I love both, so I need to try and integrate both into my life. So let´s see guys. Maybe you will get more live videos soon. 😃💜

I love this! I had no idea you played drums. I've dated a few drummers in my day, and you look like you're pretty darn good to me! I hope you have lots of opportunities to continue playing.

I have been quite good actually before I stopped.. I played every day for around 17 years. I played concerts with more than 1000 people. Still along way to go until I get back to that level lol.
My favourite drummer is Travis Barker from Blink 182. And Zac Farro from Paramore.
Very cool! I'm sure if you want to, you can get back to that level. You do have a lot more going on these days though!
That´s true. There is just alot less time these days than some years ago. But I feel I have to make time for playing the drums. It´s like this belongs to me and is a big piece of me which I missed for years.

It's been 7 weeks for me since I last touched my Roland drums as I am now on my longest motorcycle trip, currently over German soil and I am not even halfway through it yet.
