Battle Mage Secrets - The Price Of This Card Has Gone Up 47% In 6 Days!

The theme for the current "Battle Mage Secret" challenge is Born Again ruleset this time! This means all units receive the Rebirth ability which allows them to self resurrect once.. It's not always easy to get the specific ruleset, but if you play hard enough, you definitely can find one! This time I was lucky enough to have one - woohoo!

So here's the interesting battle that I encountered.

Anyway, I thought it would be still be interesting to introduce some useful cards and show how their strengths can be maximised especially with a particular ruleset. In this post, the featured card is a Water Epic card, Axemaster, which is no stranger for long time players!

Did you know the price of Axemaster has gone up 47% in the last week!? I have been monitoring the price of Axemaster for a while and 6 days ago, I decided to make the purchase at a price of USD 1.30, with the DEC that I earned from card rentals. This means I now own the card and didn't have to rely on renting it anymore.

Fast forward to today, the cheapest Axemaster listed on the market is USD 1.907!!! That's a 47% increase! I have no idea why, but am just glad that I bought it at a reasonable price (not the cheapest though!). So if you are eyeing Axemaster, you might want to check it out!

At 7 mana, Axemaster has an extremely powerful ability Double Strike and hence hits 4 damage per round. That's immense! Having 4 speed means he hits very early in the battle and coupled with a few high speed hitters, one is able to take out the opposing tank before the opponent starts.

The mysterious clan who call themselves Axemasters are perhaps the most peculiar group of people in the whole of ΛZMΛRÉ. They live under the moist ground in cave dwellings in the eastern thickets of the great Jungle, somewhere between the Palace of Eld and the treacherous tree known as Sligbough Oak. For many generations, they have protected the treasures of Eld from intruders, raiders, and even pirates who are unfamiliar with the legends of the curse. Some scholars claim that the Axemasters consider themselves the stewards and true owners of the treasures of Eld, but if you could get close enough to an Axemaster, they would tell you that they are merely protecting the people who would be foolish enough to touch the cursed treasure.

Genetically, Axemasters are a hybrid race called Meru that was created by merging Human and Mer (with a touch of Chaos magic) into amphibious creatures. Mer stories say that these demon offspring were ousted from Poseidar long ago, that they were not welcome anywhere under the water. As a result, they found the surface and made a home for their clan on the shores. In the years since, the clan has continued to migrate further and further from the water, where their Mer enemies are plentiful.

Kelya Frendul is my go to summoner for my Water lineups for most of the battles because the armor and speed boosts are applicable to any kind of lineup. The additional armor will definitely come in handy for this battle too.

Sea Monster is my favourite Water tank all this while. It is very strong and very independent on its own, with 4 Melee damage and Heal ability.

Venari Marksrat is almost a consistent feature for all Rebirth battles because of the Martyr boost it brings! Have slotted it in the 2nd place to take any Snipe or Opportunity attacks. The key card to boost would be Djinn Oshannus.

Djinn Oshannus is the card that sits beside Venari Marksrat and the objective would be to get the double Martyr boosts and it will be a tough card to handle.

4	Nerissa Tridawn	9

For a mid level to high mana battle, Nerissa Tridawn will always be a good addition to the lineup because of her high HP and good amount of damage.

5	Riverboat Captain	6

Riverboat Captain is a wild card because he has a very unique Blast ability. This means the damage can reach to the adjacent cards which can be a game changer.

Axemaster comes in at the end, and the longer he survives, the higher the damage output for my team.

• Pre Battle: When the lineups showed up, I was just stunned beyond belief. My opponent had a Level 2 Soulbound summoner but the cards that were fielded left me much to think about. Two Martyr cards side by side. What is he up to?
  

• Round 1: It was extremely easy but still, we had to go through the rounds. The triggering of Rebirth made it a little lengthy but I am sure we will be fine.
  

• Round 2: And we are almost done... Haha!
  

• Round 3: For all that preparation and strategising, it came down to an easy round. Haha no complaints of course!

Post Battle

Did my strategy work? I think I did well in this battle. Did what I was supposed to, and fielded a reasonably strong lineup. My opponent came in with an interestingly weird strategy and it posed no challenge to my big cards. Sometimes we just get "free wins" like this, and it's something to be happy about, because we get RP and SPS just like that!
