Euro 2024 - How Accurate Are AI Predictions?

The other day, my friend told me he saw videos online that there are people using AI platforms like ChatGPT to predict scores for Euro 2024, and they are placing bets based on the output of these platforms.

That got me curious. In the past, soccer fans would need to be familiar with the coaches, players, strategies and tactics, and a million other factors in order to make a calculated decision, but this time round, there is AI to provide us the "answers".

But how accurate are their predictions? So I have put ChatGPT and Meta AI to the test for a few of the recent matches, and I will let you be the judge on whether they are good enough! Haha.

Match 1: Poland vs Netherlands

Both AIs seemed to copied each other's answer and both got the result wrong.

Weirdly, both AIs predicted the exact same scoreline again. They got the side correct this time but the wrong scoreline.

Ouch. Both AIs took different sides but they both got it wrong.

Oh my... This was an upset and both AIs couldn't sense it coming! Once again, they have gotten it wrong.

Both AIs got it right this time with France being the winner, but they predicted the same scoreline and got it wrong.

Overall, both ChatGPT and Meta AI got 3 out of 6 sides correct, and only 1 exact scoreline correct. Do you think they are good enough?

Personally, I don't think they are better than the average human being when it comes to these predictions, but it could be a useful reference. And definitely, one should not rely on these AIs to bet and hope to strike it rich. Hahaha.
