Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - 100th Brawl Performance Marred By Inactive Players

Time flies! Just completed the 100th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

• Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

• Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 5 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

• We Got 4th

So for the final result, we were 4th out of 10 guilds and got 485 Merits and around 13 SPS! One of the more disappointing brawls which was let down by inactivity from a few players in the guild. Sometimes I wonder why players join the brawl when they have no intention to play (and are still active chatting in Discord). Come on, you had 48 hours to do a few battles. I know it's a just a game - but it's not very nice to drag your teammates down time after time. Sorry about ranting - just two wins separated 2nd to 4th - and we could have been 2nd.

Individually, I had 5 fights this time and I won 3 of them this time! Finished 2nd within the guild!!!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Came with a strategy to overcome the Earthquake ruleset, by packing 3 Flying cards and another card to trigger Martyr ability. Nectar Queen did most of the heavy lifting with high Melee damage and it was good enough to see through this win.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Half the battle was won when I got my summoner choice right and Thaddius Brood effectively neutralised the Magic power of my opponent. My damage was also affected but Skok Duskblight's Weapons Training ability proved to be crucial to ensure my damage output was maintained.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Isgald Vorst

Only odd mana cards were allowed but it wasn't an issue for me because my Water deck is pretty strong and I still could piece together a very decent team for the battle. One of the easier battles in this brawl for me.

Battle 4 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

A clash of two Legendary summoners and I came out short right. Both teams went heavy on strategy by deploying Venari Marksrat as tank but I couldn't handle the opposing Carnage Titan who was hitting relentless at my cards. Eventually I lost out because I couldn't deal damage quick enough.

Battle 5 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Katrelba Gobson and Bertrol Gobson

I got everything right in this one - but my opponent had Quora Towershead. Just that one card was enough to defeat my entire lineup. Couldn't do much in this one - until the game decides to give me a copy of her. It's been 45 Gladius packs!! Lol!

MVP: None

So that sums up my 5 battles for this brawl! 60% win rate, and I did my best, so am satisfied!
