Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - 70TH BRAWL & PERFECT SCORE!

Time flies! Just completed the 70th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 3 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 2nd!

So for the final result, we were 2nd out of 10 guilds and got 646 Merits and around 12 SPS! That's us being runners-up for 4th consecutive time in a row.

Individually, I had 3 fights this time and I actually won all 3! Finished 5th within the guild.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Kotriphus Bayne

This battle was so painful to watch. Both teams employed the Harklaw/Disintegrator combination and both teams weren't able to deal any damage. Fortunately/Unfortunately, there was Thorns and Thorns was the MVP here. Just kidding lol. Kotriphus Bayne saved the team by having a huge amount of HP to retaliate Thorns and that was enough to make a difference.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

I thought I should set out the context here. I was overseas and I decided to join the brawl at the very last minute. Typically I would have gone with a Water/Sea Monster lineup but when I was choosing my lineup, (to my horror) I realised my rented Sea Monster was cancelled and returned to its owner.

Hence I had to go with my backup, which would be a Water/Djinn Oshannus lineup and fortunately, my opponent put out a very weak Level 1 lineup and my lineup was more than enough to get a comfortable win. Definitely got away with this win.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

If you are sharp enough, you probably realised I didn't utilise the entire 38 mana in the quota. Once again, the context was, I was overseas and it was challenging to select lineups using the browser on my phone (vs the laptop) and I was running out of time. As mentioned earlier, I didn't have my trusty Sea Monster with me and Diemonshark had to deputise in this instance. Diemonshark's tanky stats and Trample helped this time and needless to say, I had to thank my lucky stars because my opposing lineup was yet another weak one.

So that sums up my 3 battles for this brawl! 100% win rate against weak lineups! Still, wins are still wins!
