Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Back After A Break!

Time flies! Just completed the 89th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

Note: I skipped a few brawls because I was on vacation, but I have popped by in the middle of my vacation do one brawl!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 6 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 3rd!!!

So for the final result, we were 3rd out of 9 guilds and got 700 Merits and around 11 SPS! That's a podium finish!

Individually, I had 6 fights this time and I won 4 of them this time! Finished 7th within the guild.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Alfredo

Low mana battles always have the potential to throw up surprises. I packed my team as much as possible to protect Axemaster and it paid off. Axemaster was able to execute the damage to earn the win! Not rusty at all for a start!

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Edith Emberstar

It all went wrong in this one. My team was severely hurt by all the opposing Blast attacks - they had three! And many of my hits missed Djinn Oshannus. Facing a Legendary Gladius card was definitely an uphill task.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Sola Ranjell

After a horrid battle, it all went wrong in this one. Brighton Bloom was the MVP in this Earthquake battle and Iziar proved to be an extremely strong tank once again. All 6 cards survived.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Trapp Falloway

This is one of the rare times I opted to pick a Water lineup when I could. I thought Trapp Falloway would shine in this Little League battle but it was Death Elemental that took out all the crucial cards in the backline with Snipe. Very rare but well deserved MVP!

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver

It was kinda weird that my opponent fielded so many Ranged cards in this Return Fire battle. It literally backfired and they lost badly as a result. Still an interesting Equaliser battle, where Kulu Mastermind crucially hunted down all the cards with Opportunity ability.

Battle 6 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Isgald Vorst

This was such a close battle and I lost because Axemaster wasn't able to attack from the tank position. It was tricky to fight with full Alric Magic lineups and once again, my Water cards came up short.

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! 67% win rate, still pretty decent!
