Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - I Topped My Guild!

image.png

Time flies! Just completed the 186th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 7 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 7th!!!

So for the final result, we were 7th out of 10 guilds and got 538 Merits and around 11 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! But definitely room for improvement for the position.

Individually, I had 7 fights this time and I won 6 of them this time! Finished 1st within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there were 2 additional wins for me.

Battle 1 - WIN

Opponent fled! Free win!

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

I had a lineup with 3 Legendary cards but I was unable to cope with the dreaded Quora Towershead, which was also supported by a healer. Always frustrated with these matches but there's nothing I could do about it.

MVP: None

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Gorth

This was an extremely difficult and restrictive ruleset to play and my opponent didn't have enough cards to field a strong lineup. As such, Gorth was able to take advantage of the situation and we cruised to a win here.

MVP: Gorth

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Marisol Contuma and Sola Ranjell

JUST WOW! I didn't even know how I managed to win this match. I was put on back foot throughout the battle. Both teams came out with similar tanks but I was somehow struggling because of a weaker backline. Marisol Contuma did hold off my opponent for a while because of the tanky stats and it was 2 cards vs 5 cards at one while. Then Drybone Barbarian bulldozed through and took down almost every card. Before I knew it, we sealed the win! Well played to both teams here.

MVP: Drybone Barbarian

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Another battle and another Quora Towershead again. Fortunately there was Equaliser and Thorns, which helped to level up the playing field somewhat for me. Even though Earth was my worst element, I miraculously achieved a perfect 6-0 win. Dumacke Orc stunned everyone by producing one of the best performance ever, having Shield and 11 HP thanks to Equaliser. Best of all, I beat Quora Towershead!

MVP: Dumacke Orc

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Larissa Kerato and Flagulon Reine

My opponent fielded a bunch of Legendary and new cards, which I wasn't really familiar with. Nonetheless, my team of Magic hitters went all out and the damage output was extremely high. Larissa Kerato with Double Strike was the most outstanding and we got the win.

MVP: Larissa Kerato

Battle 7 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Whistling Damon

Not sure why my opponent fielded a weak lineup... This was an easy win for me so no complaints. MVP goes to the tank which was the most involved in the fight this time, having Revived and Resurrected.

MVP: Venari Marksrat

So that sums up my 7 battles for this brawl! 86% win rate this time round! Happy with my performance this time!

Review Of Gladius Cards

Since I am able to use Gladius cards now, I thought I should review selected cards that helped me win in the brawls. This week's feature is none other than Marisol Contuma! Of course, please let me know if you have any tips in using these cards too as I am keen to learn and improve too!

image.png

CARD: MARISOL CONTUMA
ELEMENT: LIFE
RARITY: EPIC
ABILITY: REACH, BLOODLUST

Marisol Contuma is a very strong card in my view and after trying out some fights with this card, I think the strongest attribute is the 5 Speed. With 1 or 2 Bloodlust, it becomes almost untouchable for Melee and Ranged attacks because of the high speed. Have a strong Armor and HP also means that it can fully take advantage of the Bloodlust boost. All in all, a very strong to be used in Reach (2nd) position.
