Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - It's All About The Summoners!

Time flies! Just completed the 103rd brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 7 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 2nd!

So for the final result, we were 3rd out of 10 guilds and got 700 Merits and around 15 SPS!

Individually, I had 7 fights this time and I managed to win 5 of them this time! Finished 2nd within the guild!!!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Sola Ranjell

Another Quora Towershead in the opposing lineup? Seems like I have been meeting her very often in brawls these days. Surprisingly, I had absolutely no troubles this time as both Sola Ranjell and Venari Crystalsmith combined to heal my tank 8 HP per turn. Easy win this time! Yay!

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Chimney Wallstop

Ouch! This was a battle where everything just went wrong. My opponent fielded a strong tank and none of my Gladius cards could get the Bloodlust and it was a poor performance from me.

Opponent fled too! Lol!

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

Half the battle was won by having the right summoner. 3 cards with Life Leech were enough to secure this win by outlasting my opponent when it comes to HP.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Liza Fox

A 99 mana battle always throw up surprises because it's really free for all! I put in my best lineup possible and Astral Entity pulled all the strings behind the scenes to make this victory possible. With the Resurrection ability, I bought more time for the backline to deal more damage and that was enough.

Battle 7 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Edith Emberstar

My opponent's lineup was just too strong in this one, which was led by Yodin Zaku. My Water lineups are usually pretty strong but I guess the Scattershot + Blast combination was just too much to handle this time. No shame losing this one.

So that sums up my 7 battles for this brawl! 71% win rate, pretty satisfied after facing such tough lineups this time!

Review Of Gladius Cards

Since I am able to use Gladius cards now, I thought I should review selected cards that helped me win in the brawls. I had a backlog from last week so this week's feature is none other than Liza Fox! Of course, please let me know if you have any tips in using these cards too as I am keen to learn and improve too!

ABILITY: BLOODLUST

It's been a while since I had to review Gladius cards and Liza Fox's review is definitely overdue. Being a Ranged card, she is hardly used because Death does have several good Gladius cards like Trapp Falloway and Witch Of Warwick. Moreover, the biggest downside for Ranged cards is that they can't attack from the tank position and this makes their accumulated Bloodlust useless when they become the tank. In this case, I used her for a 99 mana battle where damage output was more important.
