Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Mantaroth Is Too Strong!

Time flies! Just completed the 115th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

• Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

• Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 6 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

• We Got 1st!!!

So for the final result, we were 1st out of 9 guilds and got 808 Merits and around 19 SPS! That's an incredible amount of SPS!!!

Individually, I had 6 fights this time and I managed to win 5 of them this time! Finished 2nd within the guild!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

I went in with a strong Death lineup, making use of Weapons Training and some Ranged cards. Dhampir Stalker and Lira The Dark were a deadly pair as they chopped away my opponent's card with their hits. In the end, Lira The Dark's Opportunity hits were instrumental in ensuring that there was not going to be any upset here.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie

My opponent had the dreaded Quora Towershead in the lineup but my team was not going to give up easily. We put up a very strong fight and Prismologist did a lot of the heavy lifting with her big hits and Captain Katie clocked a couple of Bloodlust, which was more than enough to see us through. Always proud of my team when they overcome Quora.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Kotriphus Bayne

My opponent put up an almost full Melee lineup and my choice to field Disintegrator turned out to be a right one. As such, it slowed their attack drastically, allowing Harklaw to hold firm as the tank for a long time while the rest did the job of hunting down the backline.

Battle 4 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

Mantaroth was just too powerful for my team and there was no way my lineup could win in this fight. It's no surprise the card is listed at such a high price and rent. Nothing I could do here.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

The Mycelic Infantry and Disintegrator combination can be strong in the right rulesets and it was the case in this round. I have lost to such combinations a few times so I have learnt to "copy" this strategy. Straightforward win here.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie and Sola Ranjell

An extremely strong performance by Sola Ranjell here, who did a lot of the attacking and healing for just a 3 mana card. Both teams had strong damage output but my opponent was missing a healer, and that was enough to make a difference.

MVP: Sola Ranjell

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! A 83% win rate, good enough for me!
