Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Missed Out On Podium Again

Time flies! Just completed the 72nd brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 7 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 4th!

So for the final result, we were 4th out of 10 guilds and got 700 Merits and around 8 SPS! With 52 wins and 19 losses, am not sure what we can do to regain the podium spots these days. It seems that participation/number of players is a big issue for us.

Individually, I had 7 fights this time and I won 6 of them! Finished 5th within the guild.

Battle 1 - WIN

Opponent fled.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Orella Abadon and Sarius

Wasn't sure what my opponent was doing here, fielding 2 cards for a 30 mana battle. Probably a bot or ran out of time. Almost like a free win for me.

MVP: None (almost like a free win)

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Both teams used anti-Magic summoners here, but my opponent gambled on Melee cards despite it being a Thorns battle. Their damage output was scary but eventually they all committed suicide and Djinn Oshannus was left standing, with enough time to take down the opposing Riftwing.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Isgald Vorst

Yet another weird opponent/lineup. Really made me wonder if these were bots. That's a free win once again.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Trapp Falloway

A tough battle on paper but turned out to be unexpectedly comfortable. Lots of individual great performance with the team. Thanks to the Opportunity ruleset, big hitters like Possessed Puppet, Trapp Falloway and Drybone Raider could do their Melee hits. Definitely a strong showing.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Big, big win there. A full Level 1 lineup and all 6 cards remained standing at the end. Big hits from all around and it was Forgotten One that held firmly and protected the entire team.

Battle 7 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Chimney Wallstop

Once again, the Fire Gladius Duo was sent to the battlefield but was faced with yet another stronger team. This was the first time I had trouble overcoming Lily Shieldpaw and the opposing tank was crazy hard to fight. In the end, my team just fell apart.

So that sums up my 7 battles for this brawl! 86% win rate and that's as good as I could get!

Those weird lineups are for sure bots. I love the free wins, but I hate knowing that just by throwing crap out there, they still get SPS and Merits. Anyway a slice of !PIZZA for a fantastic brawl!
