Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - The Format Of Brawls Have Changed!

Time flies! Just completed the 124th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

• Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

• Moving to Silver Fray

I have always been playing Bronze level frays, but there's where my cards are at. However, someone actually took my fray this time and in the spirit of teamwork (and a little helplessness), I decided to join Fray 9, which was a Silver level fray. I was expecting my Level 1 and Level 2 summoners to be in for a thrashing but things turned out totally opposite from what I expected.

Had 5 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

• We Got 5th!!

So for the final result, we were 5th out of 10 guilds and got 646 Merits and around 11 SPS!

Individually, I had 5 fights this time and I managed to win 4 of them this time! Finished 2nd within the guild! Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. Hence there were 4 additional wins for me.

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Gorth

A hard fought battle in this one. I made full use of the ruleset to put up a strong Melee lineup but I struggled halfway in the battle as it was hard to hit the Flying Dragons with high speed. Fortunately, Countess Sinash was there to strike and she didn't miss any hits despite the difficulty. Without her, this battle might have gone the other way.

Battle 2 - WIN

As if free wins are not enough, I get another free win here. Opponent fled!

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Kotriphus Bayne

Looking the level of cards across both lineups, I definitely can say I punched above my weight in this one. With a Bronze level, I had to face a strong Silver deck, and my damage output was nerfed so badly. Fortunately, I had Astral Entity, which did most of the heavy lifting from absorbing the misses to resurrecting Venari Marksrat to get the double Martyr boost. In the end, my team of common and rare cards did enough to secure the win.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Despite placing a Level 4 summoner, my opponent didn't exactly field strong cards in the lineup. Worst of all, this was an Earthquake battle and he had no Flying cards!? I had 3 Flying cards and there was more than enough to survive through the Earthquake.

Battle 5 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie and Sola Ranjell

Sigh. Such battles are just so painful to watch. Once again, I lost because my opponent had Quora Towershead. This is probably the 100th time (ok I am exaggerating) that I am saying this. Lol! Still waiting for the game to give me a copy, it's been 55 Gladius cases and 275 cards, and still not a single copy of Quora Towershead. :(

MVP: None

So that sums up my 5 battles for this brawl! A 80% win rate, almost a perfect brawl!
