Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - The Gladius Cards Shine

Time flies! Just completed the 112th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 6 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 2nd!!!

So for the final result, we were 2nd out of 9 guilds and got 700 Merits and around 15 SPS! All in all, a good result!

Individually, I had 6 fights this time and I managed to win 5 of them this time! Finished 2nd within the guild!

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Palidon Rakk and Katrelba Gobson

For a Super Sneak battle, my opponent chose to go with a full Magic lineup, which was pretty unexpected. Fortunately, my team had the damage output and the HP to survive the hits and my Gladius cards and Bloodlust eventually ensured a comfortable win. A little undecided between the Gladius cards to be the MVP, but damage wise, Katrelba Gobson would deserve it more.

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

These are the type of battles that I can't win. Am missing the Level 2 Xenith Monk, which my opponent had. I couldn't think of how best to put out a 13 mana lineup with Water and Death, two of my strongest elements, both excluded.

Battle 3 - WIN

Opponent fled! Yay!

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver and Isgald Vorst

Isgald Vorst once again showed how powerful Opportunity ability can be, by clocking all the Bloodlust so easily. As for my opponent, his Deeplurker stole all the hits, so perhaps I got lucky here. Water is still my stronghold, even without Sea Monster and Axemaster for this new fray ruleset.

Battle 5 - WIN

Opponent fled! Yay!

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

Low mana battles are always tricky! In this case, I almost lost! Fortunately, Witch Of Warwick barely survived just in time to get Life Leech and subsequently Bloodlust. Thereafter, it was a breeze. But gosh, it was just nervy in the first round.

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! A 83% win rate, with two opponents fleeing. Back to winning ways!
