Introvert Talks - It's Time To Talk To Myself

image.png

To whoever that is interested to click into this post and is seeing this, a big HELLO!

"Introvert Talks" is meant to be a new initiative or theme, where I myself as an introvert, just talk about reflections and thoughts about my life, or maybe share more personal stuff. This is my first post under this "Introvert Talks" theme and let's see where it takes me and us. :)

Recently, I haven't been writing and posting as much. I used to do one post diligently everyday, but my avid followers and some of my Hive friends (whom I chat with occasionally) will probably notice I am "slacking off". But with good reasons actually.

Too Much To Do, Too Little Time

Life, I mean real life, just got busier. On my family side, there were birthday celebrations which I had attend to and medical appointments of loved ones which I had to accompany. On my work side, another team was shorthanded and I was asked to help out with an urgent project over the past month. And at the end of the day, I am just a little burnt out and I just want to get some rest. This week was exceptionally busy because everything just hit at the same time, and aside from all my commitments, there is a lot of stuff happening in the world. I do keep close tabs with the current affairs in the world and financial markets as my personal interest, as most of you would know, the biggest event this week is the US elections and we all know who won. Financial markets reacted significantly, cryptos as well, let's see if it can sustain or will it be a knee jerk reaction.

Less Writing, More Reading

Anyway, I digress. With a time constraint, I found myself spending more time reading posts on Hive, especially on days where I just don't feel like writing a post. Yes, somehow, I still make time for Hive because as I have shared with some people, it's a little space where I can "escape" to from reality, and temporarily forget about the stresses in life, and connect virtually with different people from all over the world.

Interestingly, with my accumulated Hive Power over the past 3 years, even though it's not that much, I realised the curation rewards do add up over time. And perhaps, the rewards from curation might not be too far from an average post. Hahaha.

My Personality on Hive

Over time, as I did more reading, I realised many people shared a lot about their lives and I was reflecting and realised I don't talk much about myself. I guess, it's a balance between having a personality and also maintain the level of privacy. So I thought, why not try something new, and start writing more about myself and share my thoughts.

So I thought maybe I should think of a title for this. And "Introvert Talks" came pretty quick. These two words are contrasting and complementary at the same time, and I thought it's a witty combination. For those who might not know, I am an extreme introvert. That doesn't mean I don't talk - I just talk when I have something meaningful to contribute, otherwise, I am very comfortable with silence.

Of course, I struggled a little when I started to plan about what stuff to write about for posts like these. And then I wondered whether people would be interested or find it boring. But as the saying goes, I won't know if I never try right? Rather than trying to brainstorm and overplan, why not just dip my toes in the water and see where it goes?

So here's my introductory post for my official "Introvert Talks" posts! It's going to be free and easy and I don't want to pre-fix a frequency at least for a start. Until the next post, see ya! If you have any comments, feel free to share below too. And thanks for reading!

It looks like a great posting series is coming... 🙂 I like the name Introvert Talks a lot!!! I could easily put myself in the same group as you... I can talk, but only if I have something to say... If not, I just listen... :)

I like to read posts like this, and in my opinion, Hive is about posts like this that help you connect with other people and hang out with them. To spend some good time, and, like you said, to disconnect from the "real world issues"... In the end, which one is the "REAL ONE"? The online world where you spend time with people who are like you, where you feel okay... or the offline world of uncertainty, that comes from the unknown, and people that you don't even know!

Keep them posting! 💪

Haha don't set your expectations too high!

Yeah you are right, I probably have more common stuff with people on Hive compared to some people in real life. Where it's hard to even to discuss stuff about blockchains and cryptos.
