SBT Is Back - Good News And Bad News

It's time for another monthly update about the SBT Project, which is one of the projects that I am more heavily involved.

For those who are not familiar and are new to this project, SBT is Splinterlands Battle Token. This is a project which @itzninjafool has put a tremendous amount of effort and resources into, and I have been around into the Discord channel for a while and I really enjoy the events and raffles!

Let's get the bad news out of the way first. What happened???

As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts (link), the SBT project can be vulnerable to key man risk, and the project was halted for a couple of weeks recently. No raffles, no drips, no curations, because @itzninjafool had real life stuff to deal with. Fortunately, things are more stable now and the raffles and drips have resumed progressively.

SBT TOKEN

As a result of what I mentioned above, SBT has traded lower this month. at time of writing now, you can get 1 million SBT for about 27 to 45 Hive! One month ago, it was around 40 to 67 Hive. There was some big volatility in the prices at the peak of inactivity, and I was fortunate to pick up some SBT at really low prices. Of course, for prudence, I have also trimmed some of my SBT tokens. Currently, I am still holding 2.9 million SBT, with most of them staked.

SPLINTERLANDS REWARDS - SPS, DEC, VOUCHER DRIPS

No matter whether one is lucky or unlucky with the raffles, there's always the "guaranteed" rewards! Staking SBT earns you Splinterlands assets such as weekly SPS, DEC and VOUCHER drips. Due to RC constraints, the drips are now done weekly instead of daily, which is reflected in the difference in numbers in the screenshots below.

While the above statement is valid when it's business as usual, again, as with the context mentioned above, there has only been 1 drip for this month. Let's hope the weekly drips will continue.

BTC, ETH and DOGE DRIPS

If you are a crypto fan, you are going to like this too! There's weekly drips for BTC, ETH and DOGE too!

And here's the good news! Since my last update a month ago, BTC has gone up a whooping 62% (from 61,295 USD to 99,014 USD), ETH has gone up 38% (from 2,439 USD to 3,359 USD) and DOGE has gone up a crazy 274% (from 0.106 USD to 0.396 USD)!

So if you have been holding the drips all this while from the start, the drips would have increased substantially in value! Even though there was only 1 drip this month, here's what I have accumulated so far, about 8.04 USD as of now (vs 3.17 USD in the last update). It's not a lot as expected in absolute dollars, but compared against the dollar amount of the staked SBT, the ROI is pretty good! And if you think these drips are tasty, you can consider getting some SBT and staking them too!
