USA - Golden Gate Bridge Views and San Francisco Vibes

20180507_132723.jpg

Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan (Tokyo, Osaka and Hokkaido), Maldives, Indonesia (Bali and Yogyakarta), I was going through my past travels to see which would be the next interesting country or city to share, and I finally shortlisted New York, USA!

As you would have known from my past posts, my first trip to USA was a work trip to New York. Because I only had two days for sightseeing, I wrote about how I had to speed run through some of the major attractions in New York. You can read all about them here:

Several years later, I actually managed to visit USA again, and this time, it was for a holiday to the West Coast of USA and because the trip spanned across two weeks, there's definitely lots to unpack and share so sit back, and enjoy the sharings! You can read the earlier posts over here:

After a fun week at Los Angeles, we said our goodbyes to the colourful city and flew to another popular touristy city on the West Coast of USA, and that's San Francisco!

San Francisco had a different vibe compared to Los Angeles, and we started one of our days on those hop on hop off tourist buses to soak in the sights and sounds of the city and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge had to be the highlight on the list!

First up was the San Francisco City Hall! The architecture looked so majestic and it reminded of those historic courts and government buildings.

This was one of the monuments located in the San Francisco Civic Center. Not a big fan of history, but I guess it's probably of historic significance to the locals there.

This might looked like just a random block of houses but they actually had a name and it's a popular tourist attraction! It's called The Painted Ladies! The interesting part about this place is not only are the houses situated on a sloping angle, many movies were filmed here too!

They had a park nearby, and it's a nice place for people to chill. If you look far enough, you can see some parts of the city skyline too!

This was the California Academy of Sciences, which is a natural history museum. Due to time constraint, we didn't venture inside and we just took a look at the surrounding areas.

Within the compound of the Golden Gate Park, everything was so well maintained and the fountain made the surroundings look great.

This was supposed to be a live music venue in the Golden Gate Park but I guess there were no events on during this hour.

And finally, we made it to the highlight of our sightseeing trip for the day - Golden Gate Bridge!

The surroundings looked so calm and peaceful, blue skies, blue waters, what a sight!

And we could see the city skyline from here too! I always enjoy looking at such sights and it just shows the efforts of city planning of the people all over the world within each city.

We made our way down and we were told this was somewhat the "ideal" location to snap the iconic shot of the Golden Gate Bridge! Lucky for us the weather was great and the skies were clear, so we were able to get a clear shot!

Another shot of the calming waters from a lower height and that rounded off the sightseeing trip and we headed for a late lunch to fill our stomachs!

It's always memorable to visit iconic attractions around the world and to me, Golden Gate Bridge is definitely one of the must-see places in San Francisco. In some ways, it's a tick across one's bucket list, but in other ways, it's an eye opener and refreshing to admire these sights and soak in a foreign city's vibes! Stay tuned as I share more of my visits in San Francisco!

So that's all I have today! Have you been to San Francisco or the Golden Gate Bridge? Let me know in the comments below!
