Weekend Engagement - All About Looks
What makes you jealous and why?
Before I start, I just want to say the Weekend Engagement prompts often allows me to either some self reflection and/or exercise creativity to pen a thoughtful and meaningful piece, and this is especially so for this week, as I try to "challenge" myself to write more serious (and maybe at times controversial?) stuff.
With this context, let's dive in!
People with good looks are what makes me jealous! Haha!
Don't get me wrong, it's not so much about me being insecure about my looks or anything but from my observations in life, people with good looks usually have it "easier" in life.
One, they are likely more successful at work and likely earn more than people who are not so good looking. Observations aside, there are numerous researches done on these and one can easily Google and the results will come out. While not everything is conclusive, it's not hard to see why, and it leads us to the next point.
Two, it's human nature for people to prefer pleasant looking stuff. We can all say "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder", but broadly speaking, there are certain looks (for example, celebrities) which would fit most people's definitions of handsome or pretty. While some might argue about humans being superficial, I think it's more important that we acknowledge the existence of this behaviour and accept it, rather than "pretend" this behaviour does not exist.
Three, look at the amount of people training in the gym for their abs and going through beauty treatments like facials, slimming treatments, or even Botox. Of course, there are many reasons why people want to do it. Some do it for the health of their body, some do it to improve self confidence, but I think one common factor is the benefits which having good looks bring for their lives as well.
I mean, the "good looks" factor also applies to soft toys and movie characters in terms of the cute-ness of these things. Just look at how well-liked the minions are! Hehe!
Finally, the counter argument would be personality matters more than looks. To that, I definitely agree. But isn't it better to have both? If I have to trade a good personality for good looks, I definitely wouldn't do that, but if all else is equal, I would very much like to have better looks. ;)
Nice perspective.

Dear beloved Hive creator,
Coding poet Gudasol here to support you sharing your art + life on Hive.
As a fellow creator, I know how hard it is to get the word out there.
I built cXc.world to help creators like us get more support from the blockchain community + beyond.
Share your music on cXc.world, and copy the Markdown for a easy post includes embedded players for Spotify, Youtube, Soundcloud.
That way, you can earn HIVE + stack streams on centralized platforms, as they do still matter.
Not a music creator? No problem. You can still use cXc.world to find + share music you love.
What's next?
Preview the next evolution of cXc, Tetra.earth.
Expose local music from your area!
We're helping grassroots musicians, and you can too by adding their music (no sign up or WAX account required).

Bad news: Saying see you later to Hive! 👋
We didn't get the needed support to continue cXc.world on Hive, as our DHF proposal lacked votes, but [Good News Everyone] cXc.world will add a Markdown copy button, allowing you to easily share your music + music you find on Hive.
For now, we're on WAX, with tools you can use to mint your own Music/Media NFT collection.
