Happy New Year Everyone (Ancient New Year’s Celebrations)
Fun Facts:
The early Roman Calendar only had 304 days spread across 10 months and in order to realign the Roman calendar with the Sun Julius Caesar needed to add 90 extra days to the year 46 B.C. All this and more can be read at the link: https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/new-years
Ancient New Year’s Celebrations
The earliest recorded festivities in honor of a new year’s arrival date back some 4,000 years to ancient Babylon. For the Babylonians, the first new moon following the vernal equinox—the day in late March with an equal amount of sunlight and darkness—heralded the start of a new year. They marked the occasion with a massive religious festival called Akitu (derived from the Sumerian word for barley, which was cut in the spring) that involved a different ritual on each of its 11 days. In addition to the new year, Atiku celebrated the mythical victory of the Babylonian sky god Marduk over the evil sea goddess Tiamat and served an important political purpose: It was during this time that a new king was crowned or that the current ruler’s divine mandate was symbolically renewed.

January 1 Becomes New Year’s Day
The early Roman calendar consisted of 10 months and 304 days, with each new year beginning at the vernal equinox; according to tradition, it was created by Romulus, the founder of Rome, in the eighth century B.C. A later king, Numa Pompilius, is credited with adding the months of Januarius and Februarius. Over the centuries, the calendar fell out of sync with the sun, and in 46 B.C. the emperor Julius Caesar decided to solve the problem by consulting with the most prominent astronomers and mathematicians of his time. He introduced the Julian calendar, which closely resembles the more modern Gregorian calendar that most countries around the world use today.

Good Bye 2022
The past year has hit the cryptocurrency world hard. We all were riding high talking Lambos and Jets with a side order of private Islands in late 2021. Then the dreaded Bear hit in 2022 and with it some scandals such as the FTX fiasco. Now we are sitting around looking for some pocket change to buy up some ramen noodles and every now and then treat ourselves to some good ol fashion mac and cheese (or Kraft Dinner as some call it). The brick and mortar world didn't fair much better. Wars, increasing cost of every day items, house shortages causing for over priced rent and ridiculously priced houses, Coronavirus and all its variants. The list of nonsense expands further but I'll stop there. Of course many of us came out of it all better off than some others. Complaining about something as small as money when other much more concerning things are happening seems mundane. None the less we will complain about it anyways. I think its fair to say 2022 won't be missed all that much so lets see what 2023 brings. Hyperbole and slight exaggerations used for entertainment purposes aside I think the financial world is still in for some more dips and hits but hopefully sometime during 2023 we will be back on the uptrend. For those of us who been in the cryptocurrency business for longer than a year or two these Bull/Bear cycles are no surprise; patience is something that is very valuable in such times. I wish you all the best in the upcoming year.

Happy new year to you and your family. The coming year we pray is good for all of us. Hopefully incoming year is good for crypto and crypto users. If we people want to invest in crypto, we need to understand its cycle. Like this I invested without thinking in 2021 and my investment has become a zero. Hopefully Bull market recover my investments.
Thanks happy New Year to you and yours. Its always tough to buy in at the top prices. Hopefully we see new highs sometime this year. Cheers, !BEER !PIZZA.
