Castles in the Sand

Grains counted
Packed in tight
Walls built
Carved just right

Turrets rise
But Flags will fall
For waves will crash
Upon the shore

Of tales untold
The castle weeps
From solid form
To sandy heaps

The scattered grains
Address the tide
From Rudolph's reign
The law abides

Entropic cycles
Gathering pace
We build
Rebuild
But lose the race

Chaotic murmurs
Dissipate
The sands of time
They never wait...
Disintegrate

Who lives to die
Will suffer fate
Endure the wrath
Not conquer hate

Walls will crumble
Ruins remain
As naught escapes
Our living pain

The rite of passage
Into the deep
Nothing lasts
That doesn't keep

The castle tends
Towards its fall
From first brick placed
Inside its wall

We rue the day
We rue the night
The endless years
We did not fight

For chaos reigns
When order stalls
The writing's always
On the wall...
And so we fall

Protect the castle
Call His name
Fight disorder
Conquer Pain

We don't build castles in the air
We build them always on the land
But we are human after all
And so we build them
In the sand

And just like time
The grains disperse
To bring to nothing
All it's worth

But fight the fight
Restore the whole
The Singularity will not fail

We die to live
When all is told
The centre holds...
When we do well.

Excellent way of handling the topic of entropy. I wasn't expecting a poem, so it's great to see how you handle the different topics. I did start a story for this challenge but alas my plans got derailed. 😌

Poetry can be addictive, and it feels a bit like singing when the words catch a swaying rhythm like in your piece.

I was happy to try out the idea for dwotw, but my eyes were bigger than my stomach, as they say, and couldn't finish up on time. I hope you enjoy it.

This is deep, a castle not built on a solid foundation will eventually amount to nothing when the storm comes.

The sand castle will definitely be washed away when the wave comes from the sea...
