Dreem-WOTW S2 R3 Collaborative Writing Winners

Well, that was the toughest bunch of entries to judge so far in Dreem-WOTW!!!

We had 28 people taking part in 14 randomly assigned writing pairs, and what CRACKING stories you all told.

I think the level of excitement and enjoyment has been at its peak for this Dreem-WOTW Challenge. I certainly enjoyed it immensely, both the writing and reading elements. The judging... not so much 😂 You guys made it so so hard for us! But in the end, we had to find winners...

But... we couldn't stick to the few prize places that we had originally offered in the contest post... we had to reward more writers... so we extended the collab prizes to offer 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Public individual prizes have also been extended to cover up to 3rd place! But as we only had 3 Dreemport staff entries, we will leave this prize pool with a single winner.

Although we enjoyed every single collaboration and thought you all pulled it out of the bag in one way or another, when the graders compared notes on our 3 favourite collaborative efforts, our lists matched!!! That's not to say that we didn't have others in mind that came very close to making the top three... we did! But it was so hard this month! I'm sure anyone who read the stories will agree that they were all deserving entries...

Before I move on to the prizes, I just wanted to take a moment to say...

A little birdie told me (ok my Hive notifications did!!! 😂😂😂) that Felix (the wonderful human who steered the POB-WOTW ship for so long for us all), also known as @scholaris is back from a little Hive break and is writing again ... just saying... he has some great content if you want to drop by his blog, show him a little support, and catch up with him 🤗

Despite much to-ing and fro-ing between the top entries, we just could not split them. They were all so different and excellent in their own way. I actually wish I was able to hand out half a dozen prize places at least to the individual posts.

So what did we do - we chose 3 entries that stood out for us and shared the prizes allocated to 1st, 2nd and 3rd spot, equally between them.

I have just spent the last 5 hours solid here, and not even written anything yet. Yes quite a few communities, that is part of the problem, being stretched all over the place and not really giving enough attention to too many things.

Congratulations to all the winners but more importantly congratulations to everyone that participated. That stretched people, so a big thank you to my writing partner @snook for setting up our story brilliantly in this challenge. One thing I have decided is that is by far much easier to finish a story than start one!

One thing I have decided is that is by far much easier to finish a story than start one!

Actually it isn't. You have to be careful that there aren't any conflicts with the first part, plus tie up any loose ends.

I have to agree... everyone who took part did an excellent job. It really was very difficult to split the entries.

My Stylish absolutely is one of the very best. She knows she is one of my all-time faves and she inspires me every time I read her! hehe We could have awarded 1st place to half a dozen writers this month. We read and reread so many times. It was ridiculously difficult 🙈but we have to decide... (why do we have to again????) and we have to come to our final prize winners by mutual agreement in the grading team... and it was so so close in the shortlist 🤗

I don’t know what to say. The words are just flowing. I also am sticking to a shorter format. Typically around 1000 words or less. It’s been working out pretty well.
