Yes. 😀 A breakaway community is just a Hive dapp, which when the dapp goes down, the community can still be accessed by mainstream Hive dapps (such as #Ecency and #PeakD. 🤓

By the way, you might be interested in visiting https://breakaway.community/ which lists breakaway communities on Hive (where some may not be up anymore). 🤔 That website would also help you create your breakaway community on Hive, though that requires a server (such as a VPS). 😅

Qortal is a bit different than say Tor or I2P, but it does have its own internal network of resources, and even websites. There are several gateway sites set up so that people that don't run Qortal can access those resources. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Those "gateway sites" (which can also be called "clearweb proxy sites") can indeed be a compromise between hosting a #Qortal node to access internal websites, and not being able to access those websites at all. 🤓 Users of such sites should be careful not to provide sensitive information, as those sites can potentially read all information that pass through them. 🤯

@savvytester said that running a #Qortal node is too expensive for them (at least at present), because it requires a spare computer or a VPS to host 24/7. 💸😅
