Buzzing start to the year! Looney dook'in new years day!

Good morning buzzers, what a beautiful morning it is! The sloth is up and at 'em already! The earliest start of the year so far!

I'm going to be honest, that's the third time I've mentioned this early start..and to be honest, an 8 am wake-up isn't all that special! But hey, sloth steps! Not only did I get up an hour early, I made YOU a coffee! Come join me, have a seat and let's up a buzz!

Today will be another day catching up with family we've yet to see over the festive period, then settling back into 'normality' as we get our schedules prepared for the year ahead. There's so much we could be buzzing about it makes sense to take things sloth!

New years day (yesterday) is an interesting day for sure, it's the one day of the year most of the 'looneys' come out to 'dook'. Sloth, what on earth are you talking about I hear you shout! Well, the 'looney dook' is a tradition where people go for a quick dip in the sea on New Year's day! This doesn't sound too looney, until you realise the air temperature is usually below 0 Celsius at this time of year, and therefore the sea is even colder!

There was a massive turnout for this year's event, everyone was eager to get into the sea (and swiftly back out again!). There was hot apple juice to warm you up and towels/blankets aplenty to get people dried and safe again!

There has been many studies which show taking a quick dip in the sea has many benefits to people. I might even add it to my list of things to do this year! Who knows, you might see a sloth swim past you yet!

Spectators lined the shore watching those loonies go! I didn't event venture onto the beach personally, making my way through the crowd of spectators and up the hill for a quick walk with the doggo.
