Chasing the buzz! What's your top tips for new Hivians?

avatar

Good afternoon buzzers! It feels like I'm repeating myself but the sloth is truly taking over! As these shorter, colder, dark and wet days draw in, everything seems to slow down and the sloth kicks in! It's all too easy to get wrapped up warm and hunker down, doing nothing but slothin!

What are your top tips for buzzing on Hive daily? Do you have a niche you love to explore or a topic you pursue passionately? Do you prefer the shorter world of 'threads' or 'waves'? Do you utilise the 'decks' features to maximise your efficiency in curating, giving you further inspiration for posting?

If you could give one tip to new Hive users on how to be successfully efficient on Hive, what would it be?

I know setting myself the challenge to post for a day/week/month or year was a great motivator, yet sometimes I posted lower-quality content to meet those goals. Finding the balance between posting and having something to post about is hard! Maybe I'm just too sloth and should post more about the topics I enjoy. At the same time, who wants to read what the silly old sloth likes? Trying to meet the balance between being a diary and real quality content is another struggle!

But, time to stop moaning and start buzzing! I mean look, 200 words already and I still don't know where I'm going with this post! Maybe I should hit up Canva text to image and see what inspiration it can give me!

Floating coffee? What an idea! Ok...so not really, I'm still lost in a world of sloth! Or maybe it's telling me I should just have more coffee! Or sell coffee? Maybe we should tell @slothbuzz about this! The name would make so much more sense then! What makes a sloth buzz? Our coffee of course! Tah-da! There's an idea I'll need to look into, is there any Hivians making coffee? Maybe we can hook up and create some buzz!

Well, there's my deep dive for the next hour or so! Let's see how far this idea can take me before I get distracted! Have an awesome rest of Sunday! Let's make the new week buzz! Until next time,

Sloth out!

Oooh, a thought provoking post... and on a Sunday !

I've got three tips for new Hivers;

  1. Engage, engage, engage ! If you're too brain-fogged to make a post, use your upvotes. It means you'll still earn something, it's quick and easy to do, and when you do have the mental energy to post, you'll likely get more votes back in return for the ones you gave.
  2. Always remember it's fun, not a job.
  3. Be patient. It can take time to build a Hive account's value up, and that's okay. Just keep on slothing away, and one day in a year or two you'll look at your account value and go "wow, I did all that !"

Some awesome tips there! Thanks for sharing!

Engaging sometimes feels more taxing than making content (trying to figure out something worthy to say instead of just spamming tip commands or saying 'great post for example) but voting is easy and hassle-free!

I think your second point is right on the nose! Sometimes we all take this a little too seriously, we need to remember to have fun whilst doing it! Keep on slothin!
