Hive, Outposts, Layer 1/Layer 2, Tokens, Tribes? The future?

Good morning you waking buzzers! It's time for another sloth post of mystery!

Today I want to talk about outposts, layer 1 and 2 tokens and what Hive brings to the table! Decentralised, centralisation? Hive is 'decentralised' whilst layer 2 is mainly 'centralised' yet, it looks decentralised!

How many people even know the difference between Hive and Hive-Engine? Wait? What do you mean? Hive-Engine isn't Hive? That's right, it's a layer 2 solution to open more possibilities on Hive, this is why we have to select another tab in our wallets to find the tokens there! All those Tribes/tags run on layer 2! There are very few tokens on Layer 1. Hive, HBD and HP are the main ones!

So all your slothbuzz tokens are a layer 2 protocol, those BROs, PIMP, POSH, LEO, POB, THGaming, INCOME, SIM, HUG, and whatever else you have kicking around your wallet! All Layer 2! Crazy right?

Cmon, be honest, who knew, who didn't know and who buries their head in the sand? A nice way to manage all those tokens is HiveGadgets, created by @hivegadgets (I spent 10mins looking for the dev, only to notice the hive-gadgets user in slothbuzz discord tip tracker! Come on over to slothbuzz discord, I'm sure we've got a bunch of ideas to help continue developing Hive gadgets! Already one of the best tools on Hive!)

Gadget is a strange word, the more I type it, the more it looks odd. Or is that just me? Gadgets? Gadjets? Gajets? Gagets? Gadgets... English is fun!

Anyways, where was I? I'm not sure if these posts even make sense. Do the titles grab enough attention to earn a few upvotes though? Do curators really curate, or do they pick posts based on communities and users? It would be interesting to hear from Hive curators on this one, of course, without revealing the 'secret requirements' for a post. But a general overview of where curators look and what they look for would be awesome! I'm sure it's been posted 100 times already, but like most things Hive, after 7 days it's forgotten about forever!

Oh yeah, the main thing I wanted to talk about today... Tribes / Outposts?

Do you use any outposts? If so what ones? I think the majority of people use Ecency/Peakd! I mean they're the most feature-rich and provide a magnitude of different topics and creators. There are a few people using 'video upload' or 'media upload' platforms, 3speak, liketu etc. Some short-form posters utilising Dbuzz and Leo-threads.

But how many people are using the layer 2 'outposts' created through hive-engine (tribaldex)? I was recently talking to someone about these in discord and had a nosey at the outpost page. There have been 5 newly created 'outposts' since the Sloths started Buzzing! And I think it's safe to say, sloth.buzz is one of if not the 'best' performing for now. The token value is definitely top of the pile, and activity is slothly creeping up to match some of the long-standing communities here on Hive!

What would you like to see added to your favourite outpost? Most are still hugging the basic template from Hive-engine. How can we improve on this? What features would make it better?

I know I'd love to integrate some more features into sloth.buzz, maybe get the 'promoted post' section working for a start. Add some hive gadgets/tools? Integrate Cryptoradio.fm! The list goes on, unfortunately, dev time is limited and these things take a buzz to get moving! We're always open to new devs getting involved and bringing the best to Hive! If we can do it to sloth.buzz, you can do it to your tribe/outpost! Maybe it's time for some of these tribes to cooperate and take Layer 2 into Web3 of the future! What do we think Devs? Is anyone willing to lend a helping hand and create some open-source pages to bring these sites to the next level?

Better sites = more new users being hooked! Quicker loading times are a MAJOR issue for these sites, lots of data, most running via Hive-engine servers, makes things slow! We've all been there, tried to access a site, took too long to load and we never looked back again! So what can we do to bring Hive to mainstream and ensure these sites are reaching their max potential? Peakd/Ecency? Want to lend some features?
