Rainbows For HiveBloPoMo!!

Today is all about rainbows. The calendar tells me to share pic/stories about a rainbow I find. Well I won't be finding rainbows today where I'm at because even though the sun is shining there is no rain or moisture.

So, for todays post I will share with you some fun facts about rainbows and a story I found on the internet.

All of these facts come from a site called KIDPILLAR.

Here We Go......

Fact 1) The word rainbow comes from Latin word ‘Arcus Pluvius’, meaning rainy arch.

Fact 2) Some rainbows occur upside down and are referred to as ‘Smile Rainbows’. They occur when sunlight is refracted by tiny ice crystals.

Fact 3) Rainbows can occur at night as well, though they are extremely rare. Rainbows occurring at night are called Moonbows.

Fact 4) The lower the Sun is in the sky, the higher will be the rainbow.

Fact 5) Rainbows are regarded as Universal symbols of Peace and Harmony.
