Continuing to catch up with posting highlights from my shows with this quite long extract from my 71st show, originally broadcast 5th December 2022...

TDC Tunes' thoughts about this set

This was quite a long part of the set without me talking! Normally I talk during the show roughly about every 10-15 minutes. Sometimes when I'm tired I talk a bit less and just focus on the music, or sometimes I just get into the zone and let the chat go by! Not sure what it was this time - but I quite like some of the music that came out.

There is a good combination of little melodic elements, bleepy soundscapes, and a variety of percussion. Of course there's always stuff I can improve and I've made some notes to myself to try to do something more unusual with my percussion in the next show. I've got quite a good variety of percussive elements for sure - but modular is all about experimentation and pushing the limits - so watch this space for some crazy percussion next time!

You may notice in the video that various cards popup from time to time in the bottom left - usually accompanied by some flashing or changing lights. Well - that's the special modes that any viewer can kick off with my Bot in the Twitch channel. And all the really regular viewers have their own special mode now... hence you see the @pixiepost and @stickupboys Rising Star cards as well as @caulderfreeman's Hive Punk avatar. I wonder who will be next to get their own special mode? I add at least one new mode to the bot every week!

Rising Star Police outfit!

This coming Monday 30th will be a special 'TDC Tunes Policeman edition'! This has come about because I did a couple of mini competitions in the last show... both were guess the tempo (speed) that I was performing at.

Now, I had intended to give Rising Star cards to the winners... BUT - the two winners were Jux (@atomcollector) and @stickupboys - and it doesn't make a lot of sense to give the creator of the game cards from his own game OR indeed particularly to one of the top 25 players of the game who surely have more cards already than they know what to do with! Instead though they BOTH requested that I do the next show in the policeman's outfit that I wore for the little skit we did at the beginning of the Rising Star talk at Hive Fest last year.

Now I just have to find that outfit out of the attic and then.... we can all get ready for TDC Tunes on Brixton Radio - Police edition!
