Hello Hello to all the music loving of Hivians

It is Tuesday and that of course means two things ....

First it is #tengotuesday and Episode 11 of Talk Time with Tengo is on tonight ... it will be a banger with @shanibeer .... XV anyone! XV 4 XI on Talk Time with Tengo

And secondly, it is #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes!

It is Cheltenham which means four days of horse racing!
Woohoo and heaven for a gambler!
I am blowing my own trumpet as I picked El Fabiolo and he just won woohoo!!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

The formalities

If you wish to participate in Three Tune Tuesday then I defer you to the simple jist on how to do it from @ablaze ...

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

This week is week 94 of ttt and if you wish to participate then follow the rules laid out by @ablaze in his post from last week Interference for Three Tune Tuesday Week 93 and RIP Fergus - 8 HBI shares to be won

Do Go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the EIGHT sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this world of ours!

Formalities over, let's get down to it

This week will feature one artist and he happens to be probably the most favourite of all the musicians Mrs T likes. He was also reason that Mrs T wanted to play trumpet!

Any guesses?

Let's see if you are right!

Tune 1 Louis Armstrong - What A Wonderful World

Yeah the absolute legend that was Louis Armstrong. I purposefully chose the spoken intro version of What a Wonderful World as I just love his voice.

I am sure you have heard that at some point.

Total class.

He had lots of great quotes and one of my favourites ...

"If I don't practice for a day, I know it. If I don't practice for two days, the critics know it. And if I don't practice for three days, the public knows it."

Louis Armstrong - When The Saints Go Marching In

His voice, his trumpet playing! Damn I defy you not be at least tapping your foot!

If you don't recognise his trumpet playing you may well recognise his voice!

Apparantly this was due to have a prolonged cold as a child. He later had surgery on his vocal chords to fix it, however as you can tell his rasping voice actually got worse!

Tune 3 Louis Armstrong & Duke Ellington "In A Mellow Tone"

He was born poor, died rich, and never hurt anyone along the way

This quote was said by Duke Ellington of Louis Armstrong, and what fitting way to close out this ttt by playing this when they appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show together.

I will leave you with his words ....

"Man, all music is folk music. You ain’t never heard no horse sing a song, have you?"

I hope that you enjoyed these tunes from Louis Armstrong**

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

Awesome stuff! I have been a long time fan of jazz and big band music. We used to play a lot of it back in high school. We had a guy come and play trumpet and sing for our Christmas concert to What a Wonderful World. It was so good. The guy did a great impression.

Oh that's right I am sure I read about your band playing days!
I must admit I love jazz and big band music too.
Right now I have got Louis Armstrong playing, watching the horsing racing from the Cheltenham festival and trying to write a post for tomorrow.
That guy that came and sang and played at your Christmas concert sounds awesome!
Trumpets are just fluffing awesome. I love ska and of course plenty in there:)

Yeah, I enjoy me some ska as well! That sounds like a pretty perfect day! I have a bunch of Glen Miller records at home if I remember right. I recently picked up some more jazz ones at the store. Have fun watching the race!

Ah, you did it again. Those beautiful childhood memories, listening to Louis Armstrong for the first time, it's all back now. Them old records in the basement of my parents I discover. Wonderful, fantastic. Thank you. 😁
And on top of that a class trip to Berlin just when we were old enough to drink beer, storming a subway car in the middle of the night and performing "The saint" when we were all drunk.
Have a !BEER for that :-)

His voice, his trumpet playing! Damn I defy you not be at least tapping your foot!

That my friend is impossible! The word legend gets bandies around a bit, but old Mr. Armstrong was certainly a legend! Such good tunes.

Oh and nice work on El Fabiolo, getting yourself off to a flyer, hopefully the luck continued over the week. Great week of sport and more to come soon with the qualifiers strating, hopefully it's not more heartache for the Scots this time, often so close, but no cigar.

There are certain songs that I never tire of and What A Wonderful World is one of them and what an intro he gives too, what a great role model.

Cheers mate, yeah What A Wonderful World really is a banger that is a one in million I think!

The footy ach well, stopped looking at Scottish team years, not exactly a fan of the SFA.

Looks like you guys have a good young striker though from Brighton I think it is.

Ah right, I get ya...

Ya Evan Ferguson looks the real deal and Mikey Johnson made his debut against Latvia too and looked quality and really wanted to take the defenders on in a really positive way. We play France tomorrow, so let's see how that goes😬😬😬😬 😵‍💫

They hockeyed Netherlands 4-0 Nd that's with Van Dyke and Nathan Ake in defence 😳

I feel quietely confident we could knick a point and get a 1-1 but then again I'm a hopeless optimist!
